Not literally "throw" the game, of course.

He's definitely done this before when the Spurs have clinched, most recently in 2003, the last reg. season game agains the Mavs where he rested everyone.

Actually DRob played, I went to the game. TD sat out.

    "where he rested everyone."

he sat Tim and Stephen only, (and handed his friend Don his first 60-W season)

It's a good call. Give Tim and Manu badly needed rest, they already own the Suns, and see if the others can beat them. They almost did. Suns are weak. Tim and Manu out, and they still can't put the Spurs away defiantly. In my view, this loss shows their weakness as much as the Spurs first two wins.

Yeah, but didn't the bench play huge minutes that game?

Also, Don Nelson won 60 games once with Milwaukee.

I totally disagree, if Manu had played we would have had a better chance, even bringing him off the bench or lots of rest, and still would leave doubt about the TD factor if they won.

well maybe he knew what he was doing after all..... had Barry made a few shots, and Brown missed a few less, we would have won.

Like a mad scientist, Pop was tinkering with his machinery to see how it worked under unlikely conditions of stress.

DRob played quite a bit. I went to game because it was his last game as a Spur in reg season. I remember Kerr played great in that game and I was thinking that if he played as well in playoffs, the Spurs were a lock.
    Turns out, he did, huh?
