My my your all in a huff aren't ya. not only did the right wing vote for the patriot act alot of democrats did too. Now let's see the patriot act for good or bad was voted on in congress in regards to an attack by Saudi nationals living in the U.S on visas, who drove two airplanes into the twin towers killing thousands and terrorizing New York and indeed the whole country, another plane driven into the Pentagon killing more, and an attempt to crash a third.
Obama's watch list was released a few days before a group of American citizens who happened to be political opponents of the Federal goverment, and the current adminsitration, gathered together to exercize their CONS UTIONAL rights to peacefull assembly and free speech(I've heard no reports of violence have you)
Yes your right, the parallels are uncanny. How thick of me to have missed them.
True, dumbass Democrats voted for it too. They doesn't change my point. Were you complaining about the Patriot Act when it was signed?

Are you or are you not ok with the Patriot Act, FISA, and "Free Speech Zones"? You're the one who calls yourself a libertarian.

While we're at it, Mr. Libertarian, are you for increased immigration? How about gay marriage or civil unions?

    There are none!

And when there are, they are actually left wing!

I have a graph that proves it!

Then the DHS bureaucrat who authored the advisory might think about sticking to those actual groups with a history of violence, right or left, and leave the rest of the citizenry who merely are exercising their 1st amendment rights (some in favor of another part of the Bill of Rights) out of it.
agrees very strongly, but specific examples would've been fodder for hostile inferences in just the same way IMO.

Persecution of extreme views for the actions they might (subjunctive mood) inspire, sorts ill with freedom ...

Presumably casting official su ion on "extreme views", absent any evidence of actual wrongdoing, answers to your notion of national defense.

    It doesn't agree with mine.

Those who would give up essential liberties for temporary security deserve neither.

NPR had something very similar to this yesterday but used the word terrorism to describe the attacks. And the study had a fairly rigid definition of what terrorism is. Essentially the jihadists attacks are right wing I would think. They come from a conservative belief system it seems.

This is where I get confused with terms used in politics.

You realize I wrote this 5 years ago right? Of course, ol' Ben Franklin beat me to the punch by a few years...
