Bowen is the tonight guys`
yep yep and yep. I mean honestly guys we can talk about role players all we want but this team now lives and dies by parker. He creates everything, as long as he stays aggressive means more open shots, more field goals, and time to get back on D to set up. Parker is the man, and I think we should give him his due. Sans parker were ed, of course sans TD were ed because its TD but nothing gets rolling on this team if TP isn't playing well.
Folks, that was playoff intensity, and it's the first sign of it we've seen in a LONG time.
+1 It felt like 2007 again tonight...it felt good!!!![]()
The trepidation I feel about the Spurs' backup point guard situation may never come back if they keep playing this hard. That was also as close to a 48 minute team performance as I've seen this year.
Your ass can't talk, unless you meant to reverse jinx the Spurs.
And too many people were doubting the Spurs tonight, it is ing pathetic to read bs like that. How about everyone believe. And pray JV/Mason/TP are never on the court with Hill, so he can play at least a bit of PG in the playoffs.
I am now going to bump the GAS thread, if someone hasn't done so already.
Good job Spurs in shredding the defense and giving it to that little gnat Barea!
It worked in 2007 and it will work in 2009. I even bet $1900 on the Spurs losing tonight. I knew it would be a blowout. Works every time!!!
Seriously, the Spurs looked like in the second half of Game 1...they have apparently found their long-lost defense...on to Dallas!!!![]()
I think the Spurs had their backs against a wall and the Mavs were relaxing cause they stole home-court advantage. Wouldn't get too excited about this victory. And the fact that Bonner got a lot of minutes is very disheartening and does not bode well.
We'll see on Thursday night...![]()
booner got more minutes because he was producing atleast for him
Bonner was really good. If he and the rest of the Spurs play like this they'll be fine.
BTW, you can't watch the games. See the other post.
lol @ those who thought that dallas would sweep the spurs. Good game. It was nice watching the spurs play defense again... I've missed that.
believe me, i have no desire to see Bonner on the floor.
It's not like Bonner was fantastic but he got 4 offensive rebs, screened and spread the floor, plus played some energy D. The game was more about Tony Parker creating on offense and the Spurs hustling as a team with lots of intensity and physicality.
You set yourself up to get punked, though, if Bonner showed up...which he did.
The defense was solid. A few miscues but the rotations looked the best I've seen them in a while.
A team effort on the boards as well. They didn't allow Dallas any of the 2nd chance oportunities they had in game 1.
Bowen on Terry and Barea was genius.
Finley did a better job on Howard but lost Kidd a couple times. Still he looked active despite his shooting struggles.
Duncan was a beast defensively. He was moving so well I never thought about his knees.
Parker did his thing no matter who was guarding him.
Bonner was much better tonight. The offense was nice but it was his crashing the boards and being physcial with whoever he was guarding that I liked most.
I didn't much care for Mason tonight. I still think his defense sucks but he nailed some nice jumpers again.
Gooden was I was most impressed with. He not only went after the boards but he has such beautiful post moves. He made Bass look silly on several ocassions.
Udoka was pretty bad.
he played like a turd in game 1, which was a big part of the reason we lost home-court advantage. so he's going to have to do a lot more than just show up to make up for that.
Will someone please update the banner that says mavs still leads 1-0? Thanks!
cred for this win goes to pop, me (for picking everything that would happen correctly) and dirk
his piss poor pick and roll defense gifted us probably a good 15 pts.
Winning wall.
![]()
GREAT all-around team W tonight.. Onto game 3 now.
Should I go ahead and start the thread now?![]()
That winning wall is not meant to feature the superstars #21, #9, and the biggest star of all, #15. No. It's all about Georgie. The ref is doing a Nacho Libre fist pump at the sight of Hill. Great moment in time.

Amen sister your fine!!
Duncan is the Assist of the Night on NBA.com for the no-look to Finley. I like the offensive board it starts with.
