And by the way what the are the Celtics doing? Trying to copy-cat the Lakers of '04 or what? .

Lakers of 04'- Kobe, Shaq, Malone, Payton.

Celtics of 08'- Pierce, Garnett, Allen, Sheed, and now Hill?

    WTF!?!?

Boston is really old, but their role players are A LLOOOOTTTT better than that Laker team..Rondo and Perkins alone..a healthy Celtics team is the best in the NBA without question IMO..but they're going to be extremely prone to injury, considering the age of their best players..

It sure is fun getting all of our Spurs news from Boston outlets...

Anyone have Ludden's e-mail address handy for McDonald or Monroe?

I find it strange that people (not just you - I hear it all the time from fans and journalists) still refer to Rondo as a "role player". He is more important to that team than either Pierce or Allen in some respects. Sure, Pierce is the closer, and Allen the shooter, but Rondo runs the team, and he was % points off averaging a triple double for last year's playoffs.

    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/rajon_rondo/index.html

Rondo is an elite NBA PG now IMHO.

Suddenly SA nor Orlando are as interested in Big Baby as earlier reports today suggested?
You just proved my point that people thought those Big Baby reports actually had some substance. Thanks.

If that Celtics team enters the playoffs all healthy, they are gonna be tough to beat. Even the Lakers with the addition of Artest are gonna have a really tough time beating them if those teams rematch in the NBA finals again.

I bet the Spurs told Rasheed that they were more interested in Dice.

    Dice > Wallace.

Some good news in case we don't get McDyess, at least for me LOL..I got a call today that I would be getting a personal tryout with a few others for a walk-on spot at St.John's later this month..I've been playing with a bunch of them for years, but I was kicked out of High School years ago, and stopped pursuing basketball as seriously as I did when I was younger..I like my chances of getting a bench warmer spot, at least right now LOL..

I'll give you guys more information as I know more, and if it looks good for me..

I thought I would share that with my fellow SpursTalkers..

I agree..I was speaking more so from a publicity/perception standpoint though..Rondo is obviously going to be taking a lot of Allen's touches as a playmaker, since Ray is more of an open shooter/coming off screens shooter..

Thatīs probably the one scenario where I would cease to be pissed at the FO for not pushing harder for Rasheed. Hopefully thatīs the case. Please God... let that be it.

Although it may take time to play itself out, the Pistons would like to bring back power forward Antonio McDyess, an unrestricted free agent.

But with likely compe ion coming from more le-ready teams like Cleveland and San Antonio, the Pistons are looking at other options.

And that could lead them to Mavericks power forward Brandon Bass, an unrestricted free agent. Bass' agent, Tony Dutt, said Monday the Pistons have inquired about his client, and there is mutual interest.

"We see it as a great situation that we would like to explore at some time," Dutt said. "It's an organization that has the respect of players."
At least it means that McDyess isn't a lock to re-sign with Detroit.

Listened to Chuck Miketinac on ESPN 1250 tonight. He said the Spurs were more interested in Davis and Bass than McDyess. Not sure what's true or not, but being local, I'm more apt to believe Chuck.

The Wizards are pursuing Antonio McDyess, but word is he's heading back to the Pistons. A decision from 'Dyess is coming soon, according to a source, and it appears to be between Detroit and San Antonio. Blazers restricted free agent Channing Frye could be a fallback option for Washington. But according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Cavs are the latest team to meet with Frye, who also has drawn interest from Denver, Phoenix, and San Antonio.

I believe it completely. It's what I thought all along (well, not the Bass part).

They may be waiting for another couple events to shake out before deciding/declaring.

Just from getting bits and pieces from media sources, it looks like the spurs were really pushing for sheed and now dice. If dice stays in det then, I'm thinking the spurs won't break the bank for anyone(that means full MLE). To me, signs are pointing to splitter and maybe a servicable big to fill out the roster. As to say, make any one of these bigs compete for a starting spot in camp.
