ok guys we have 11 out of 18 teams at the moment... the dilemma right now with only having 11 teams is that i can only adjust the # of teams to either 10(by booting someone) or to 12(if someone joins) in order for us to draft tonight. i definitely don't want to boot anyone so that option can be scratched off... if you have a friend who has a 360 with 2k9 and wants to play in our league tell me asap so i can send them an invite so we can get this thing rolling or else we're gonna have to postpone the draft again.
i will check this thread again in approximately 30-40 mins.
if you really need to boot someone it can be me. I wont make the draft tonight anyway...wont be home in time from work....then Im headed to Club Mirage for the stripper pole contest @ Club Mirage. Head out if you aint doing ....

ah ! so i just found out that i can't schedule the draft the day of, but i can schedule it for the following day and there after.

damn this! ok, i had a screen that was showing me all the players and said "live draft" so i freaked. anyhow, got out of that screen, went back into the lobby and the date is 6/20 @ 9pm cst.
sorry for all the confusion and the automatic postponing of preseason. hope you all can make it tomorrow. thanks for being punctual tonight and sorry again.

yo, 12 minute quarters? you're not for real, right? I thought 8 minute periods last time was too much. 6 minute is exactly half an NBA game, which is what I've found to be the best amount of time for an interesting game. It's a great game and all, but 12 minute q's are gonna be waaay overboard, a single game just doesn't stay interesting that long for me partially because of the 300 points im gonna have to score ...
There's gonna be a different draft for the regular season right? I'm just gonna run the preseason with what ever they pick me cuz I probably won't be able to make it tonight. But I'll be there for sure when the reg. season draft is.

haha. i love 12 minute qtrs! my friend and i play 12 minute qtrs everytime we play 2k9. i've gotten used to the time but i understand your concern.
there's no reason to believe any of the settings are a lock. the settings from time per qtr to on ball defense will fluctuate during our preseason. some games you might feel like you're a king and others you might feel like you're nothing. the preseason is my chance to level the sliders out and that's all.
i will be trying to watch all games while they're being played to get a better idea of how the game is taking shape. i will be watching the play by plays on the 2ksports.com site and will be trying to make sound judgements about our sliders based on what i see.
as for 12 min qtrs, we will most likely get back to where we were last season1 with 8 min qtrs. no less than 8 min qtrs though.
yes, you are correct. this draft really means jacksquat when you look at the overall picture of things. season2 draft will be the real deal, but that's not to say you shouldn't draft who you'd like to run with this preseason or that you shouldn't play at the top of your game during the preseason.
i need yall to take the preseason seriously in order for me to make the right decisions on our sliders. just remember though, there are no playoffs or finals in the preseason.
eh, its just annoying as this useless preseason is going to cost me 90 minutes a game instead of 30 like 5 minute q's... i honestly don't see how anyone could enjoy 12 minute quarters other than every once in a while, just saps the fun right out of the game before halftime..
