Former San Antonio news anchor Gerry Grant has been released from Huntsville State Prison and is back in San Antonio where he will serve his remaining sentence at a local facility, an official with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice said.
In October 2000, Grant purchased four photographs of young girls from a pros ute who was supplied the pictures by the San Antonio Police Department. He pled guilty to possession of child pornography.
According to the plea agreement, Grant was to pay a $2,000 fine and serve five years in prison.
Grant was released from Huntsville today after serving two years and one month.
He will remained jailed in a Bexar County jail-work program facility and continue to receive sex offender treatment and meet with a parole officer, Mike Viesca with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice said.

That night, KSAT had to run with the story as the lead (I remember watching all three KSAT newscasts that afternoon/evening) in their 10PM because every other station had the story lead.

Being a father of a 10 year old, i'd KILL any man who would ever think about touching her. Grant was a new father at the time of the crime. He did do wrong but he has served his time.
Remember, he never touched a child as far as we know.

That webpage says, "Taken from audio and video tape presented by the Bexar County District Attorney's office." I would think the Lightning would get sued big time if that's false.
