Could end up being for Desmond Mason or something.![]()
No, it's understandable. It's just as bad as me wanted to get more info out of him and me waiting. I am a beloved Spurs fan and up to this point our FO has done a great job thus far.

I'm still in a bit of shock. Dice is an unreal fit.

SAN ANTONIO -- Antonio McDyess is leaving the Detroit Pistons for the San Antonio Spurs.
The sought-after free agent reached a deal with the Spurs and is expected to sign later this week, team spokesman Cliff Puchalski said Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Spurs had their full midlevel exception, worth about $5.6 million this season, to offer McDyess.
The 34-year-old forward averaged 9.6 points and 9.8 rebounds in his 14th NBA season last year.
It is the second big offseason pickup for the Spurs, who acquired swingman Richard Jefferson from Milwaukee last month in a four-player deal.
Its too early to claim who has the better team. But the spurs at least now will have a chance against the Lakers.
This is to be expected. Pretty sad...
Can you say when this happens? Or did I miss that?
the best thing now is that I really don't care, it will be only bonus if happens but right now w/o doing nothing more we are contender !
Oh yeah. , if they called it quits now I think the Spurs would have the top-rated offseason by a mile.
Just for the record McDyess is staying!!! Not involved in sign-n-trade. Now it's just a trade I hear. Just a trade, not a sign-n-trade.
ESPN Ford is pretty much going to crown the Spurs champs I think.
1. San Antonio Spurs
Key additions: Richard Jefferson, DeJuan Blair, Antonio McDyess
Key subtractions: Bruce Bowen, Fabricio Oberto, Kurt Thomas
In limbo: Drew Gooden (U), Ime Udoka (U), Jacque Vaughn (U)
The Spurs always seem to find a way to turn a little into a lot. They turned three aging players past their primes into Richard Jefferson -- an athletic forward at the peak of his game. They added Antonio McDyess to play the 4. McDyess is getting older, but is still very productive and a model citizen on and off the court.
And even without a first-round pick in this year's draft, they were still able to come away with some terrific players in the second round. Specifically, Pittsburgh's DeJuan Blair, who was the best rebounder in college basketball and is a beast in the paint. If his knees stay sturdy, he'll go down as the steal of the draft. Overall, the Spurs have dramatically improved their team and are, once again, serious contenders for an NBA le.

As a Detroiter and die-hard Pistons fan, congrats Spurs.
He is the hardest working most class act player you could hope for who goes 100% off the bench for 10 and 10 25-30 min a night.
Do me a favor, get him the championship we couldn't because the whole city felt bad for him in 2005 when you bas s beat us.
Seems like Pistons fans were very fond of McDyess. Glad he's on our side now.
Where's Mahinmi?
Hope Sheed doesn't take this ass-whupping personally.
He's on the injured list even in hypothetical line-ups.
LOL, I know. I never thought you meant Dice would be S&T'd. I thought you meant another FA would be signed then traded to the Spurs.
wow.. im at the library but had a hard time concentrating because of the mcdyess buzz... and now that i caved in to check the news im glad to see that hes going to sign with us. great offseason so far!!

As a Pistons fan I am sad to see McDizzle go but he deserved better than last season. If only the other vets and "leaders" of the Pistons would have played as hard as Dyess.
The Spurs are getting a good vet... age is overrated. Dyess won't be asked to lead the Spurs to a championship just hit open jumpers rebound and play defense. Pretty basic. Good pick up Spurs.

Congrats Dyess! I'm also a diehard Pistons fan, and out of everyone one on that horrible team last year, I felt worse for my boy Dyess. Go get that ring big man, and you'll always be a Piston in my eyes.
Everybody! Grab your jerrycurl and let your soul GLO!!!
DOes anyone know if Blair and McClinton have been signed to contracts already?
Manu Ginobili
Welcome Antonio McDyess to the Spurs! Great acquisition, too! Great player, experienced and a really solid presence in the paint. He can really help. The Spurs are taking their final shape for the season. There we go! Can't wait!

The way I see the C/PF situation -
Duncan, Bonner, Mahinmi, McDyess, Blair and Haislip-
one of those guys won't make it onto the active 12 man roster. Spurs usually have 5 bigs active. Question--- who is the odd man out?
Awesome. Glad we have a few pieces left for the trading block too. Backup SF or C for Bonner/Finely/?.
