Bynum put up 6/4 in the playoffs after 2 years of hype. He got benched or pulled out because of foul trouble repeatedly.

Mahinmi hasn't even been on the floor, so we really don't know. In fact maybe Mahinmi won't pan out. Maybe it will be Blair. Maybe it will be Haislip. We don't know. We do know that Bynum is lazy and robbing the Lakers blind.
Bynum was coming off a serious injury....he was not close to what he was earlier in the season..the guy averaged 14 and 8 in the regular season...yeah he struggled in the playoffs but that was to be expected. His timing was off.

if he stays healthly he will have a big year this season.

I've been saying this since the playoffs..

the Lakers are VERY overrated..did you guys actually pay attention to their compe ion?..

first round..they play a Utah team with chemistry issues that was ravaged with injuries, and they were missing their starting C/3rd best player for pretty much the entire series(only had one game where he played more than 13 minutes)..Okur was one of their few matchup advantages, since he would have been able to pull one of their big men out of the paint..

2nd round..they play a Houston team missing Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady, and Dikembe Mutombo..Ron Artest was absolutely horrible once Yao went down, and that was their #1 option..their #2 option was Aaron Brooks LOL, and their go-to-guy down low was Luis Scola..their defensive big man rotation was 6'5 Chuck Hayes, 6'8 Carl Landry, and 6'9 Luis Scola..

third round..they finally play a good team in Denver..they get 2 wins off the SAME EXACT IN BOUNDS PLAY, involving the same players..Denver is WCF talent, but clearly one of the lowest IQ teams in the NBA, as everybody knows..losing 2 games off in bounds is beyond ridiculous..

the finals..they play an Orlando team that is pretty much missing it's all-star PG, and he was arguably hurting the team..they get a win off Courtney Lee's missed wide open floater, and missed wide open alley-oop at the buzzer..then they get a win from Howard's inability to make 1 free throw that would have ended the game, and then allowing Fisher to make a pull-up 3 to send it into OT..

This is also ignoring the fact that Boston was missing their best player..

very unimpressive le run, similar to our le run in 2007..
You don't get less points for winning just because other teams were playing hurt

every year a team is missing key guys...if you stay healthly you have a better chance at winning it all.

injuries are part of the game as laker fans realised last year

, if I was a Lakers fan I'd be lookingly hopefully at Antonio McDyess. He's the rare case of a big man that was able to bounce back from a string of knee injuries and have a respectable career. Bynum's missed a season's worth of games in the last two years with serious knee issues and he's only 21.

If anything, I'll give the Lakers some extra props for making it to two finals and winning a championship with a center whose contract and production makes Eric Dampier look like a steal.

Detective Loya: Did you ever have her from the back of her head or her neck? Were you ... ? What kind of intercourse was it?

Bryant: (inaudible) held her from the back? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Bryant: I held her from the back and I went like this.

Detective Loya: So what did you have around her neck?

Bryant: I had my right hand like this and my other hand like that.

    Detective Winters: Okay.

    Detective Loya: Okay.

    Bryant: But ... (inaudible).

Detective Loya: How hard were you holding her?

    Detective Winters: OK, all right.

Bryant: I don’t know. My hands are strong. I don’t know.

Detective Loya: Okay. Did she, did you get any blood on you or anything like that?

Bryant: She didn’t bleed, did she?

Detective Loya: Yeah, she had, she had a lot of bleeding.

Bryant: You’ve got to be kidding, from where?

Detective Loya: From her vaginal area
Bryant: Yeah that’s mine. I can’t believe this girl. What does she want from me?

Detective Loya: Do you want me to carry those for you Kobe?

Bryant: Yeah. What does she want, what does she want?

Detective Winters: I don’t think she wants anything.
Detective Winters: Has this ever happened before?

Bryant: Um, yes, with one other person. And she could actually testify I do that um, I do the same thing, I hold her from the back, I put my hands (inaudible).

Detective Loya: And who’s that other person?

Bryant: (inaudible) Her name is Mic e. (Inaudible).

Detective Loya: And this is somebody you frequent or one time incident or ...?

    Bryant: No. She’s a, she’s a frequent (inaudible).

    Detective Loya: And your wife...

    Bryant: (Inaudible).

Detective Loya: Obviously your wife doesn’t know about this?

Bryant: No. Nothing man, seriously. (Inaudible).

Bryant: She had all this time to sit there and thing that this happened coincidentally or whatever and um (unclear) the strangling thing you have to go talk to this girl (inaudible) Mic e.

Detective Loya: She has a bruise on her neck.

Bryant: Yeah I mean that’s you know me and Mic e, that’s what we, we do the same thing.

Detective Winters: That’s your thing. How many times did you have sex with Mic e?

Bryant: A lot. She’ll tell you the same ...

Detective Loya: Do you have her number?

    Bryant: Um not right here
"Bryant made a comment to us about what another teammate does in situations like these," Eagle, Colo., Detective Doug Winters wrote in a police report obtained by the paper.

"Bryant stated he should have done what Shaq does. Bryant stated that Shaq would pay his women not to say anything. He stated Shaq has paid up to a million dollars already for situations like this."

Listen House, LA is in for a rude awakening. They have continued to delude themselves about Bynum being a franchise player. So far all he's shown is that he sucks. 12 million per year and he gives you about what Josh Powell gives you.

LA faced teams with mediocre frontcourts during their playoff run -
Utah: No decent bigmen defenders + Okur injured
Orlando: One great big (Howard) + a bunch of SFs
Houston: no Yao, no Deke but LA made Chuck Hayes look like an All-NBA defender
Denver: Decent big man rotation. Naturally LA made Nene looked like an All-NBA player who could score at will; heck even KMart looked like a capable player against them

We all remember KG/Perk/Powe/PJ Brown ting all over LA's frontcourt in 08. LA dodged a huge bullet when KG went down this year.

Now on to this year: You've got LA with the same soft (but skilled) big man rotation of Gasol/Odom/Bynum. Boston reloads with KG/Perk/Wallace. Cleveland will field Shaq/Z/Varejao. SA improves with Duncan/Dice/Mahinmi. Dallas will have Dampier/Dirk/Marion. LA has yet to prove that they can overcome a team with a tough and deep frontcourt. If Landry, Scola and Hayes can outplay your big man rotation twice in a series, you still have a lot to prove.

Now Bynum may improve and that'll change the equation. But that hasn't happened for 2 years now, so we'll have to see it to believe it.

yeah the Lakers are overrated. A very weak champion -- remember, the same team got absolutely creamed the year before by Boston. What was the difference? Nothing. It was the same exact team.

Why do you think the league launched into an arms race for players? It's not because the Lakes are so good; it's rather because they're relatively weak. There's a power vacuum at the top and a lot of teams see themselves as very close. If LA was far and away the best team, you'd see GMs saving their money and shrinking like violets. The opposite happened. LA is ripe for the plucking. This is also, incidentally, why they panicked and signed Artest. They knew 1) they needed some more talent, somehow, and especially 2) they needed A LOT more toughness. If they face the same Boston team from '08, or the equivalent, it will be LIGHTS OUT.

Same team minus two starters, Ariza and Bynum. But yeah, same exact team.

Exact same team? idiot...we were without TWO STARTERS against Boston

jesus.....how long you been following the NBA again?

oh and lakers adding artest to improve is a bad thing? isn't that the idea?

Boston aren't better than L.A...they have failed to upgrade a big need and thats a good slasher who can defend the wing and shoot the three....lakers when healthly are better than Boston.

    Tidbit from Charley Rosen.

    Antonio McDyess to the Spurs

PROS: McDyess can rebound, knock down mid-range jumpers with regularity, and drill turnaround jumpers in the low post — particularly in clutch situations. He's also a physical, if not especially quick, defender. McDyess should be most effective when Tim Duncan assumes a position in the low post. A savvy veteran, McDyess rarely takes bad shots and will readily fit into the Spurs' disciplined game plan.

CONS: As his 35th birthday rapidly approaches, his durability is increasingly an issue. He played 30 minutes per game for the Pistons last season, but showed signs of wear and tear late in the season. Look for him to be on court for about 25 minutes per and therefore have fresher body parts for the duration.

PROGNOSIS: Coach Pop will certainly get the most out of McDyess' still vital but declining skills. However, at a "mere" 6-9, 245 pounds, McDyess is not the space-eating big man that San Antonio still needs.

By the end of the week.

Spurs general manager R.C. Buford confirmed that the Spurs had reached agreement with McDyess. A club spokesperson said McDyess, whose off-season home is in Houston, is expected to sign a contract by week’s end.
