I keep rooting for Ian to show that killer instinct, and even though he had a very nice game, he finished rather pedestrian.
Hill will play better when he is with his actual team.

Actually it was a lapse by our timekeeper.
I wish McClinton would've succeeded with that last shot attempt, for his sake lol
When the defender goes under the screen in the Spurs' system, the guard is supposed to shoot. George has to do a better job of hitting them. Airballs are the best result you could hope for because he'll be remembering them when he's in the gym practicing that shot.
Actually it was a shot that only took three tenths of a second. The lapse by the timekeeper put .4 on the clock instead of .8 which it should have been.
Good game for Ian. McClinton showed a little promise, but I think he is Austin or Europe bound. Same for Gist. I hope Hairston and Ian can contribute next season. Hill should be great next year and only get better. Nice action this summer. Way to go spurs.
Jack actually had more points than Gist.
Ok, for those of you who watched. What is your overall perspective of the game? Who played well and who completely pulled a playoff bonner?
Depending on when the clock starts, yes.
I got over it when it happened though.
Both of them will be in camp. They have plenty to work on between now and then.
The clock is irrelevant. The catch to release took three tenths.
Don't buy that. He did not pull up from someone going under the screen. He kept his dribble and kept floating baseline to his left and shooting leaning jump shots. They were not rhythm or set.
He should have been attacking and looking to finish at the rim and break down the defense or draw a foul with the way the refs were calling. But that is nit picky, he played well overall this SL.
I do not think airballs are the best result. That is some b.s. mind game. You could say him hitting the game winner would have been the best shot because it will give him confidence. He is not going to shoot any more jumpers in the gym just because he missed.
Hill and Hairston looked tired down the stretch.
Overall, good summer league run. Hill played really well in the first three games. Hairston proved he could shoot at a level higher than D-league. Mahinmi had his moments and finished with his best game. Gist got better as the summer league went along. Technically, the same can be said for McClinton. Blair looked pretty damn good.
It would have been nice to finish stronger but there was definite progress made. And best of all, everyone stayed healthy.
If clocks are irrelevant, how do you know how long it took?
No use arguing about it now.
Blair,Hill, Hariston, Ian.
cant wait for the season
Me too. Mainly by watching it on DVR a couple of times and realizing I couldn't say the Spurs were robbed.![]()
Give some credit to Thabeet. He played those final few pick-and-rolls really well. He showed enough to get a hand up on the shot and he was quick enough to keep Hill out of the lane. The one time Hill got in the lane, Thabeet blocked it.
That Hill and Mahinmi pick-and-roll had been deadly all summer league. But Thabeet proved he's an elite defensive prospect with his play down the stretch. You don't see 7-foot-3 centers able to play the pick-and-roll like that too often.
I think we have some material to work with here. Unfortunately I was hoping at least one of our bigs to be more sound defensively in order to help TD more... Pop is going to have his hands full in that department. But other than that, there's some good talent here.
The clock on the floor was irrelevant to how long it took. You said the timekeeper made a mistake after I said it took three tenths. The one does not refute the other. That's all I'm saying.
I'm saying there is no use arguing about it now. That's all I'm saying.
Ian had 15 and 9 with 4 blocks and the obligatory 6 fouls of course (35 mins). Nobody else put up any stats. Thabeet 9 pts, 5 rbs, 2 blk, 8 fouls. Looks like Ian outplayed Thabeet! Hill was at least able to get to the line hitting 8 of 10 FT for a total of 12 points. McClinton went 4 of 10 for 8 points in 23 mins.
If anyone is fretting because the team lost, if Blair had played, the Spurs win.
This was to see Mahinmi, Gist, Jack and more Hill.
Beck will not even get a sniff of getting out of training camp on the team.
I think the spurs are in trouble with hill if he doesn't get those to's down.
