Didn't see the game. Is there a box score somewhere ?
So Diot is not only a sausage (to be eaten with white wine) but also a promising young bb player. good news

Parker returns to help France beat Finland
Tony Parker returned from injury to help France beat Finland 82-72 in a European Championship qualifying match Saturday.
The San Antonio Spurs point guard, who missed Wednesday’s 80-77 overtime win over Italy due to a right ankle sprain, was used sparingly by coach Vincent Collet.
He only played the first five minutes as France consolidated its position at the top of qualifying Group B in the Euro playoffs.
The team finishing first in Group B takes on the winner of Group A—Bosnia, Belgium or Portugal. The European Championships are next month in Poland.
Parker had wanted to play Wednesday, but the Spurs brought him back to San Antonio for tests after he was injured in a collision with an Austrian player last month. Parker has said tests showed no signs of ligament tears or serious complications.
As a young player Diot was full of promise....we are all waiting something special from him. He was really dominant as a junior
I know (to a certain extent) - I just wanted to share some French gastronomy knowledge with our US friends...
thanks math ! BTW bzh ? breton?

next Spurs draft pick
Looks like Nando had a pretty decent game except for the 3 TOs. He led the team with 5 Assists, had 3 steals and 8 points. 4th most minutes.
Was Nando showing any leadership this game or was he still deferring to the others?
This is sad. France should win them by 30.

Ian is clear for participating to the trainings (insurance issues solved) but he still has to wait the authorization of Spurs organization to play.
Yes, from Quimper (I live near Paris now)
To be honest I don't like much what I saw from him. There is not doubt he is very talented, but sometime he looks a bit out of control. I hope it is just that he has to adjust to a different role (with Cholet he was the clear-cut leader) when he is playing for the NT.
It's a good news that Ian's insurance troubles are solved.
Finland scored 50% of its point behind the arc. FIBA pushing back the 3 point line is definitely a good thing for the game. French speaking posters can see the press conference and heard some interviews here: http://www.pau-orthez.com/news.php?newsid=934 .
Diot doesn't only plays like a 30 years old vet, he also speaks likes one. His level of maturity for a player that young is quite unreal. I also like what Collet says and what he does as a coach.
Next game for French NT is Friday against Italy but before that there will have a Finland-Italy game Tuesday. Italy has the better team on the paper but with Mancinelli done and if Finland continue to shoot well, an upset is possible.
Collet seems to be the man of the situation, it was about time to have a decent coach for this team.
Thanks good that they limited his minutes.

good news for french basket...another legionnaire :-)
please can someone help me to get my french flag under my profile like others???

very good defender but imo too undersized for the nba
Ian has an opportunity to fill a huge need for the NT. Diaw is currently their best post player.Ian can score inside and he can draw fouls PLUS hit his FTs. Yes, he fouls and yes he can get moved around defending bigger pivots, but French NT needs him badly. Petro has been a non-factor.

Collet Looks For Better Defense
France are in first place in Group A of the EuroBasket Additional Qualifying Round after winning for the second consecutive time on Saturday but coach Vincent Collet won't allow his troops to relax.
Saturday's triumph over Finland followed an overtime win at Italy - a team Les Bleus will go up against again on Friday.
"We must apply ourselves to develop our defense in more detail in a game that will be full of tension," Collet said.
France are in great shape, especially when considering that Tony Parker has not been a factor because of the ankle injury he suffered in the build-up to the qualifying games.
He missed the first game against Italy while receiving treatment on the problem back in San Antonio and then played just over five minutes against the Finns.
On Saturday, Antoine Diot made up for Parker's absence in the backcourt by pouring in a team-high 16 points.
"The ankle is okay, it is still not 100% but it's getting there," Parker said.
"I must go slowly ... My hope is to go further. It's still a long way."
"It was planned like that," Collet said of Parker's limited minutes.
"We will give him additional days to return. He will play more against Italy."
