I don't think Saddam, Mao, Lenin, or Stalin are representative of true Marxism. Ultimately, the "inner party" becomes just another higher class oppressing a lower class, right? That would seem to conflict with the Marxist view of a classless society.

Lenin and Mao, believed, like you alluded to, that there needed to be a party to put the "Marxist" practices into place. Once that happens, we get naturally self-interested men assuming responsibility for their society's resources. Then, what we are left with is a perverted form of a theory; hence, Leninism, Stalinism, and Maoism.

Seeing the wording on that memo it was easy to see how a lot of these anti obama zombies would get their panties in a wad over this. When taken out of context the wording would scare me a bit too. "What did the president ask of me?" is a pretty creepy statement out of context. Does he want you to be a fascist, liberal, communist, nazi, socialist, kenyan? Or when taken in the context of the speech does he want you to take responsibility for your education, strive to be productive, and ask of yourself more than what others will?
