Joseph Hyungmin Son, 40, who played Dr. Evil's sidekick "Random Task" in the first "Austin Powers" movie, was convicted of torture last week in connection with the 1990 abduction and gang rape of a 20-year-old California woman.

The Orange County woman was walking her dog on Christmas Eve and looking at holiday lights in the neighborhood when she was snatched off the street and attacked, KTLA reported.

Son was accused along with one other suspect of holding the victim at gun point and raping her numerous times as well as sexually assaulting her with the weapon.

The victim's lawyer claimed the assailants then released the woman naked with her pants tied around her eyes.

Son wasn't arrested in connection with the crime until 18 years after the incident.

In 2008, after violating probation on vandalism charge, he was charged with numerous counts of assault when his DNA was found to match a sample from the victim.

Many of those charges were ultimately dropped due to the amount of time that had elapsed since the alleged incident, KTLA reported.

Son is slated to be sentenced on September 19, and faces 15 years to life in prison.

e.com to stream all Bellator preliminary-card fights beginning with Bellator 49

In a welcomed move that's sure to spark lots of speculation, Bellator Fighting Championships today announced its preliminary-card fights now will stream live and for free on e.com.

The two-hour streams, which kick off each Saturday at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT), begin with this week's Bellator 49 event.

e TV officials today confirmed the plans with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

"Fight fans have been coming to our site for years for great mixed martial arts clips and information," stated Erik Flannigan, Executive Vice President, Digital Entertainment, MTV Networks Entertainment Group. "Now we are thrilled to provide them with action-packed live fighting each week."

Bellator's main cards currently air on MTV2 (and in high-definition on EPIX), which are both owned by Viacom, which also operates e TV. The UFC's live broadcasts on e TV end this year. However, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney has continually stated that his organization is committed to MTV2 and has made no suggestions the promotion could love to e TV.

Still, today's announcement is sure to raise eyebrows.

"We are thrilled to join forces with e.com," Rebney stated. "The e brand is synonymous with mixed martial arts worldwide and is another member of the MTV family, who does an incredible job in resonating with the hard-to-reach 18-to-34-year-old male audience."

e.com never previously has streamed live MMA fights.

    Hendo wants both UFC, Strikeforce

All the buzz coming out of Dan Henderson's camp has been that he is UFC-bound and would like to unify the 205-pound belts against Jon Jones. Yet, Henderson himself hasn't been contributing to these reports.

In fact, he says if he had it his way, he'd defend his light heavyweight le in Strikeforce and fight in the UFC, interchangeably. Speaking to Clinch Gear Radio this week, he broke it down.

"I definitely feel that there's still the possibility for me to defend that belt in Strikforce, but I think now that the UFC has bought Strikeforce and they need to make money and I need to make money, so we'll see what happens," he said. "I'd like to work out a deal where I'm fighting in both promotions...I'm sure we'll figure out a deal within the next month, two weeks. I would love to be able to fight in the UFC and defend my belt in Strikeforce."

He also went on to say that the Anderson Silva loss at UFC 82 was the one that stuck in his craw the most. "Probably," he said. "Especially the way [Silva] fights most the time. He's disrespectful to his opponents and the fans at the same time."

Whether a deal like that can be worked out or not depends on what Zuffa's big picture plans on for Strikeforce. The writing appears to be on the wall that Strikeforce isn't overly interested in having traditional champions and defenses the way the UFC operates. Right now there is a vacant welterweight and heavyweight le, and a Henderson's is currently in limbo as he negotiates. Besides that, outside of Muhammed Lawal, there aren't a lot of vastly intriguing challenges for Henderson in Strikeforce. However, he has plenty of options in the UFC, with potential fights against Silva for the middleweight strap, Quinton Jackson (who beat him for the 205-belt in 2007), Mauricio Rua and Jones. Zuffa has stated that the Nick Diaz deal they worked out several months ago allows him to fight in both the UFC and Strikeforce, so maybe it's possible they could give Henderson a similar clause in his contract.

Bellator champ Hector Lombard willing to move to 205 pounds for "Babalu" fight

As far as Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard (30-2-1 MMA, 7-0 BFC) understood it, Renato "Babalu" Sobral (36-9 MMA, 0-0 BFC) wanted to fight him at 205 pounds.

Whether or not that's the case, Lombard told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) he's up for the challenge.

Apparently, so, too, is Bellator CEO and chairman and Bjorn Rebney, who hopes to book the non- le fight for a Nov. 19 Bellator 58 event in Hollywood, Fla.

"I got a call from Bjorn ... and he talked to me about the situation that 'Babalu' wanted to fight me," Lombard told MMAjunkie.com on Friday night. "He wanted the fight at 205 pounds."

The Cuban-Australian judoka considers himself a smaller middleweight, and he hasn't competed at light heavyweight in more than five years. But the fighter, whom Rebney has said even expressed interest in fighting at 170 pounds, said he is willing to move up for Sobral, a former Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion who's long competed at 205 pounds.

Lombard, though, isn't sure why Sobral hasn't officially accepted the fight. MMAjunkie.com could not immediately reach the Brazilian's representatives for comment.

Rebney today said that Sobral's team initially pursued the fight aggressively. The fight executive said he agreed to all their demands: the fight taking place at 205 pounds, the compensation for the bout, and the amount of time for a two-month camp.

"I've been a big 'Babalu' fan for a lot of years," Rebney said. "They weren't really on our radar, but then they reached out to us and opened the door and asked for a few things. We agreed to all of them. ... But now we're siting back and waiting.

"We haven't heard anything back from them ... in three or four days."

Lobard is getting anxious, as well.

"I said, 'I'm here to fight. Let's just make the fight happen as soon as possible,'" he said. "It wouldn't be one of the easiest fights of my career. But he's got a good name."

He said he's now just waiting for his would-be opponent to green light it.

Such a fight would be a major coup for Bellator. The organization has a policy that only tournament winners get le shots, and currently, no tourney champions are on deck for Lombard, who's the top-ranked 185-pounder not under contract to the UFC or Strikeforce. As in past seasons, officials then book their leholders for non- le "super fights" to keep them active.

But the middleweight division hasn't exactly produced big-name opponents for Lombard's bouts. After winning the season-one tournament, Lombard has defeated Jay Silva (a late replacement for MIA Paulo Filho), NFL vet Herbert "Whisper" Goodman and veteran Falaniko Vitale in non- le fights.

Although Sobral hasn't fought since a December Strikeforce loss to Dan Henderson, he would be a credible threat to Lombard. And that's been the biggest complaint about Lombard, whose current 24-fight win streak features many solid opponents but few households names.

Las Vegas Culinary Union continued its anti-UFC campaign today by sending a letter to Anheuser-Busch "concerning anti-gay bigotry" in UFC.

    JoshGrossESPN Josh Gross
The union also created online pe ion for people offended by the conduct to "ask FOX to drop the UFC." This union/UFC fight will get ugly.

    JoshGrossESPN Josh Gross
This all stems from the ongoing battle over unionizing workers in Las Vegas casinos owned by Lorenzo & Frank Fer ta (UFC majority owners).

    JoshGrossESPN Josh Gross
I can't say one way or the other if the union fight will hurt UFC. But at a minimum it represents wind against UFC sails & brings scrutiny.
