Was he that bad? I thought he was solid the first two games. Jimenez and Peralta are too slow for the type of game Mexico plays, imo.
He just doesn't make good decisions in the box... even his 50th goal was flukish... he hit the ball wrong. Plus he gets involved in too much extra-curricular on-pitch drama (flopping, fouling, arguing)... Peralta is just a more cerebral player...

It would've been a travesty to be eliminated with 6 points (especially when many teams pass with 4).

    Ayala son

He started against Germany when Salcedo was RB.
Yeah but we're still super thin on defense. After Alvarez's performance against Sweden i wouldn't trust him vs neymar on the wing. So if you bench Alvarez that means you would move Slacedo over to rb and then start Rafa with Ayala at CB.. So either you go with the TOSB at CB or you take your chance with Alvarez getting exposed again. Maybe bring Layun down to RB idk . Either way i'm not worried about our offense against brasil its the defense that's worrisome.

srs question, is USA still a top 50 team in the world?

Mexico has always been better but Japan, Korea now have 10x the euro talent and costa rica has been so consistent.

they're probably around top 60ish if we are being honest.

They’re banking on kids who play in Europe for relegation sides to be good just because they play in Europe. I’ll give them credit though... their u17’s, u20s, and u22s have been better than Mexico’s the past few years. Which isn’t surprising considering how much more money the US soccer federation spends developing youth compared to poor Mexican kids who have to go to school and work as kids. Not to mention 80% of their youth rosters are Mexican Americans that they've scooped up like France does with African kids.

We’ll see how they do with this new generation, but today should’ve been 5-0. They got off lucky with the 3 goal ass kicking. They’re in the same level as Jamaica right now. This was our B-team as well. The first team is preparing for the Argentina game in San Antonio.

Last thing school shooters really think Puli is better than Hirving Lozano just because American media and BVB fleeced Chelsea into overpaying for that bum. He was a benchwarmer for Sancho in BVB, and he’ll be a benchwarmer at Chelskeet when their transfer window ban expires. Lozano would’ve gotten sold for 80M if he was South American. He’s criminally underrated. He was the best player in the Dutch League, scored against Germany in the World Cup, scored against Juve as a sub, etc. his stats speak for themselves. Did more today in 20 minutes than Puli did in 90.

That's because the Mexican League is the best paid league outside of Europe's Top 6. Fact.

When Mexican players go to Europe, money is not usually the driver - it's exposure to better leagues so that their own skillsets can improve.
For the longest time Mexicans were too complacent to leave the comforts of their own league (where they wouldn't have to struggle as much - on account of language / culture / etc...). But now it's basically seen as a personal choice - albeit now it is being incentivized.
