again???
Damn at us using our own brains. We should all be following Pop blindly!
again???
Name me the team PJ coached to an above 500 record other than the Blazers?
Theres a reason he's been fired 3 times as a coach.
LETDOWN GAME.
I don't think anyone said that.
Reach much?
Haha yea... But i think more and more will complain about Ian not being out there. Which by now may actually not be a bad point.
Yep. I don't like Brett Brown on the bench there. I didn't think he was a good coach in Australia at all and now he is sitting next to Pop. It's nothing personal and maybe he has improved, but I just don't think he's good enough to be on the Spurs bench.
I guess he put in the time and hard work and Pop rewarded him. I would much rather have PJ there though.
Yep, Haislip always looks lost out there on the court. And his defense is subpar when he does get out there.
Not to mention he always looks stiff instead of fluid and loose as he should be with how athletic he is...
they had some good looks early on but couldnt knock 'em down
oh well, move on
I told you all the last game would be a turning point for the spurs. Poopovich's endless meddling with holding Duncan out of games, playing shortened lineups that don't include any shotblocking, etc, etc is royally ing up the chemistry and morale of the team.
Eh, a little bit.
The effort though after a day off though was a bit inexcusable.
But no one brought anything.
Ginobili was content shooting jumpers again, George Hill was meh, Parker was fumbling, Duncan was content on just being there.
A collective game of no one showing up.
We may see more of him tomorrow night.
Oh yeah, a wholeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee lot. Team is doing well on nights lately, tonight sure as was not one of them though.
OKC plz help us
Is he getting more respect from the refs or does Blair do a better job at getting less stupid calls?
only 1 today...
You mean the coach alot of players past and present credit with their improvement?
So when did coaches have to coach effort? Just curious.
You win some, you lose some. Spurs lost this one and we have to move on.
Yeah all hands on deck tommorow.
McDyess will see alot of time, he practically had a DNPCD.
Mahinmi may get run.
I'd bet Parker may get the night off.
Duncan plays most likely.
For what it's worth, Mahinmi got more minutes than McDyess.
Let the analysis begin.
I just don't like Brett Brown. Most of the teams he coached here sucked. My team dominated his in the finals one season. I thought he was an average coach. That is my opinion.
I did say that he may have improved a lot since then and may have put in a lot of time and effort with the Spurs and got rewarded by Pop.
If I had a choice he would be behind the bench though and PJ Carlesimo sitting next to Pop again as the lead assistant.
Haislip was bad, and hasn't shown much during pre-season or reg garbage, but come on . . .
Throw him in ice cold in the 4th down double digits? When he's barely played and doesn't know the system (unlike Mahinmi)? People are dissing his offense tonight, but on defense he was just as bad, he didn't know what the was going on and his head was spinning.
That's on Pop for injecting him in the 4th while still contesting the game and just putting him there to fail. Why not the first? After all, it was Pop who said at Toronto that "Not too much happens in the first quarter of NBA games.”
Now I'm not a Haislip supporter. I've been big on Mahinmi on this board and of course would have rather seen Ian all game over MH over and over again. But Haislip succeeding in that spot was a longshot.
The coach continues to kill this team.
If in fact Duncan were going to sit out one of these next two games, why not have it be tonight? Then he get's a three day break and can carry the team tomorrow against a team with a much better big combination than the Bobcats. The Spurs will likely need someone to carry them because the rest of this team looked gassed...and that was with them coming off a day off.
Jefferson continues to be underutilized. Not only is he inexplicably not leading the team in minutes played during this stretch, but he's rarely getting the ball and when he does, for some odd reason he's not driving.
And then you got the small ball obsession. Tomorrow, Duncan and Parker (and maybe even Ginobili) should sit out. They both looked sluggish tonight and even if they both play, tomorrow will likely be a difficult game for the Spurs to win.
Aberration.
However its spelled.
Harlemheat is right.
Haislip has sucked since preseason. I thought he sucked since I first saw him in that first preseason game.
How he has gotten all the court time he has over Ian is a mystery to me.
