If I weren't such a lazy man, I'd track the Spurs scoring normally vs. small ball and see how bad it really is.

Just a theory of mine, but the small ball takes the players out of sync because the offense is used to having 2 bigs, one doing high pic and roll and 1 down in the box.

Put 4 smalls on the court and the offense stalls. Add to that the defense is compromised and next thing you know you just lost your 10 pt lead in a flash.
