The Vipers early was killing from three but they’ve slowed down. On offense the only guy that’s showed up has been Luka.

I will say though, for him to be a stretch 4 his percentages haven’t been good at all in any level. I liked that he is posting up aggressively though

A little tweak in his technique and I think the efficiency will rise. It's not even a matter of strength anymore for Luka, he's improved on that from last year.

Luka scores more when he's playing with a quick rim rolling big who shoots...because most of his (effective) moves come from midrange to inside.

However, the overall team defense is better when he's playing with an interior-only Center.

So, I guess Luka's future with the main team will vary between PF and C and is matchup dependent.

That's assuming he doesn't develop more perimeter skills. Right now his post moves >> perimeter moves.

You aren’t lying one bit on your assessment. I will say the defense doesn’t turn completely to crap when he is the 5 but it is better when he is at the 4 for this team.

His 3 point shooting hasn’t been good at all and that was supposedly one of the things that draft experts said he would build on because of his form. I know a few draft folks did point out what I said about his 3 point shooting with the fact that even in Europe he wasn’t that good shooting 3’s at any level he played.

That zone is confusing the out of Austin. They did decent early in the game when Luka flashed to the free throw line and the defense collapsed on him. He made solid decisions from there.

    great block by Woodard!!!!

I agree, his 3 pt shooting hasn't been good. But I don't mind it much, I don't want him to become over-reliant on 3s and I sure don't want to see him turn into a 3 pt specialist because he's good at it. I do have to say the fact that there's room to improve AND Luka is finding other ways to score shows his excellent versatility.

He has improved his strength for sure but I think he still needs to get a little stronger. Doesn’t need to get too much bigger because it might hurt his quickness but maybe a bit more muscle.

yeah, maybe tweak his shot a little bit or work with him on his deep shot selection

Woodard came up big on defense at the end and Luka came up big on offense.

He's been consistent with double doubles, dominating each game with array of moves, inside and outside, plus rebounding. And playing high minutes. He's getting there.... keep working Luka, rebounding, defense and motor should get you minutes to the big club

Missed the game, so would love your thoughts. Highlights showed Luka with some nice moves. How was his defense? At ude?

He's got nice footwork and size. There's some good potential there. Reserved but getting more excited about this prospect.

offensively he was a big reason the team came back. He again came up big in the 4th quarter on that side of the ball but he did it posting up players and being aggressive.

he is doing way better boxing out for rebounds and has been getting more contested boards which is also good. He seems a bit more alert on off ball defense and he didn’t foul as much this game. He got beat by some smaller guys a couple of times off the dribble but he wasn’t totally blown by at any time I seen him getting switched on guards and wing players.

overall he was good but definitely can get better. Especially on helping hard on defense when he does help, knowing when to help defensively, not over helping on defense, finishing through contact and at the rim on offense, moving without the ball, and overall shot selection.

He was spoonfed the whole game so we didn't have an opportunity to see if he would act like a baby again.
