Going a few tens of pages back on this thread is wack, and hilarious. My god, was it obvious that Keldon was ready for minutes early on. I haven't seen many more obvious blunders in terms of rotations from great coaches than what Pop did to the Spurs this season. Had Keldon, Lonnie, Eubanks, even Luka gotten consistent minutes after the ASB, or even a bit before, I'm confident we at least make the POs. At least the Bubble Spurs gave us a glimpse of what could've been, and some much-needed vindication.

In other news, I've heard something about the next year of G-League being in tatters. Is there any word on whether it would be played, if there isn't a vaccine by the time it's supposed to start? Might be the divine help we need to force Pop to play our clearly ready youngings.

From the list I saw (Wikipedia), only the Pistons and Nuggets don't have their own G-League affiliate. Does this new team belong to one of them?

Edit: the list also said the Pelicans have an affiliate in Erie PA, but they're getting a new one in Birmingham AL in 2022. It also shows the Pistons getting an affiliate in 2021 that will also be based on Detroit. Erie is pretty far from Denver though.

I think this is a good thing. As much as he needs experience, playing with the big boys will more likely damage his confidence. He really coulda used a full year of the G league.

I think Eubanks might stay with the big club due to us having very little big guy depth.

I can see Jones and Quindary playing in the development league also

Why isn't Tre being sent? I think he also needs playing time. And where's Q? I thought I saw him in the practice suit in the Celtics games.

Personally I think the development of Luka is impt this year, hopefully he could be a useful rotational player next year we really need some reinforcement on the bigs.

The thing is, the Spurs have to keep enough players up with the big club to cover any health and protocol issues. In a normal year, I think Q, Tre, and Kieta would all be sent down. Since the gleague season is only 15 games, any player sent to the bubble, and then called up to cover a shortage with the big club, probably wouldn’t have time to re-quarantine and return to the bubble. I’m not even sure that positions matter. Q would be an obvious candidate to send down, but seeing some games cancelled because one or both teams can’t activate 8 players, I think you keep 15 in SA, and Sammich in Orlando.

I'm confused? I thought that Luka was heading down to Orlando and that Q, Bates-Diop and/or Jones were staying with the Spurs?

Jones & Samanic (who both need reps and playing time) are staying in San Antonio, but only are 2 two-way guys are going to Orlando?

Sammich and Jones wouldn’t be listed on their roster, since they’re on the NBA roster, and Q and KBD, on two way contracts, can be listed on the Austin roster, and not play in the bubble at all.

I’m really excited on Kyler. Swat machine who can hit long, and he already has more moves than Poeltl and Eubanks combined. He needs to put in a little weight though.

Almost forgot Spurs picked him up he definitely is a great shot blocker will be interesting to see how much stronger he has gotten.

Also like Nate Renfro a pretty athletic guy who plays above the rim also a very smart player his interviews kinda remind me of a younger David/Timmy
