And in comparison, which tv show drama had the best series finale universally enjoyed? Sopranos had too much ambiguity, and haven't watched the Six Feet Under ending. The Shield wins for the absolutely most depressing and Dexter was a laugh riot.
I don't think anything should have been different. I loved that it was an actual ending (although that left me depressed), and that it was as happy of an ending that you could get.
Nowadays, everyone is trying so hard to be unique and different, the fact that Gilligan decided to "old school" end the show without really any loose ends I thought was surprisingly refreshing.

Gilligan reveals five alternate endings:

I liked the one when Walt ran off with Lydia to the Czech Republic.
I wonder if we still get the flash forwards if AMC doesn't cut some episodes. I feel the pacing could have been better.
3>2>5>4>1
Is how I would rank them.
2-5 were all legendary, though. It's like The Wire, but backwards.
I was fine with the finale. No complaints at all. And I agree with Harlem, seems to me that a chunk of people complaining about the finale are either newcomers to the series, or people that haven't even seen all the episodes.
Yeah, I could understand hating it if you missed the flash forward at Denny's and at the house, but otherwise, it was a quality ending. I was rooting for more a Scarface ending where everything collapses, but I thought the one we got was very well executed and it was cool to see something finally go right for Jesse. Jesse's expression when he can finally escape the Nazi slavery and the slavery to Walt too is one of the real high points of the series.
I loved it. My one complaint is how Walter got shot. I have to watch that scene again, because It didn't make sense how he was shot in the gut while lying on the ground. Overall though it played out pretty much like I thought/hoped it would. Walter killed the Nazis and Jesse got away. The only thing that took me by surprise was how the Grey Matter duo was used. I'm glad they found a way to use Badger and Skinny Pete.
Ricochet.
loved this series. best scene was when Walt just murks those gangster dudes in half measures and saves jesse's ass.
also, "if I have to hear one more time about your bull 'i did it for the family'"......
"I did it for me. I liked it."
stone cold.
He, I loved that line as well. It was so cool.
The only thing that could have made this series even greater would have been a post credits shot of Huell still sitting in the safe house.
That would have been great.
Todd was a ing great character imo. Perfect cast for that role and he played the emotionless psychopath beautifully. "Sorry for your loss"
I figured you'd be pissed since it was Todd who kept Skyler from getting killed.
When I watched a second time I did notice several shots of bullets ricocheting, and there's a point where you hear Walt get hit by something that I assume was the bullet.
Been waiting for someone to do this ever since the Need for Speed trailer was released: Don't watch if you haven't seen series finale
Yeah there is a point where the camera is on Walt/Jesse on the ground where you see Walt react as if he got hit.
Also, lol
