Di Maria is very up and down and was dispossessed more than any other player in the 2014 for the most in WC history.
On paper Argentina has a strong squad, but all of them outside of Messi, Masch, and sometimes Di Maria (and yes, Messi's last penalty against Chile was bad) are way way below average when they put on the Argentina jersey.
Messi doesn't need more help for Argentina, he just needs players who are actually able to make a run instead of forcing him to play deeper than he ever has and having his teammates miss absolute sitters.
