neither have i but i also haven't liked any comic-to-movie production. they all suck.
There's always going to be people willing to spend their money on stupid stuff.
Bad comic book movies, the you see in any given Hot Topic, Furby's, calf-tats, Zubas, Propeller hats, etc, etc...
neither have i but i also haven't liked any comic-to-movie production. they all suck.
I like some of them but I can't believe that no director or producer has been able to come up with a decent Superman adaptation. They have all sucked.
I must admit I have watched the Spiderman and Batman movies though.
Yep. You're totally right.
From was a monstrosity.
And Road to Perdition? Suck-fest.
Don't even get me started on Ghost World. Or A History of Violence.
Blech.
Really.
As for Ruffalo, I quite like him as an actor and think he'll be a good Bruce Banner. After all the changes, though, I don't have much hope for the future of Hulk movies as a franchise. I'd say let him be a part of The Avengers and then let it be.
Good point but for me, graphic novels and comics are not the same if you know what I mean. Superman, Batman, Spiderman, The Green Lantern, etc are comic books to me.
The first Hulk movie was the worst comic book to big screen I have ever seen. For all the hype that movie was total crap. I actually liked the second one alot, but I am a huge Norton fan so that may have had alot to do with it. I agree with the person that said they were looking forward on seeing Norton and Downey on screen together.
I think this also means the odds of ever seeing the longer cut of Norton's hulk movie that he & the director favored with more character development have gone down considerably, unless Marvel Studios is short on cash and releases it to try to milk whatever money is left out of the movie.
They can't even make a very good looking Hulk animated movie, which is a shame because it should easily translate. Some of the Ultimate Avengers stuff did a decent job, but Lionsgate ruined Planet Hulk with halfass animation. Too many people like the Hulk for them to stop though.
Fcuk you Ed Norton. You had the world in your hands and you went Hollywood.
in reply to cuckingfunt; this is what i was getting at. the same could be said about video games to the big screen imo.
Except that graphic novels are essentially comics bound together.
You forgot American Splendor.
And Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Eh, four-color isn't for everyone, but there are still some great stories dealing with capes. Dark Knight Returns, Red Son, Kingdom Come, the Watchmen, Sandman Returns (pretty much any Vertigo comic) for DC, and the Ultimate line from Marvel are good works.
Image produces Invincible which is funny and wonderful. Reminds me of old Spiderman stuff.
And then there's a ton of stuff that doesn't involve capes, like the Walking Dead, Chew, Y: The Last Man, etc etc.
comic movies continue to be made cause hwood has run out of ideas
unless they start buyin rights from other countries and reproducing it, then again original is always better
True. I stopped reading comics decades ago though and was just a kid and still into comics like Archie, Sadsack, Durango Kid, Sgt. Rock and others. Never got into it after that.
that's cause you went down a different path where story doesn't matter, but ab definition and ty writing do
ab definition!!?? Where is your mind at these days?
I never read comics but I love comic book movies.
You need to check out Walking Dead. Great series, but very mature. (I wouldn't let little kids read it.)
Seeing as both Hulk movies flopped at the box office, you're not the only one that doesn't give a about the character.
They are making a walking dead tv series for AMC
