My wife and I went to see the Toadies at Whitewater on Saturday. Great Venue set right off the river. Dos Equis sponsored and their 16 oz. beers were 3 bucks. Same size Miller Lite 4 bucks. Anyone else been to the venue?
Don't know about the location but you're a lucky bas to have seen the Toadies. Is Possum Kingdom only on the radio all the time cause I live in Texas or is it cause it's actually that big of a song? I was too young to know about them when they were big
My favorite Toadies song is the one that sounds like Possum Kingdom.

They are from Dallas and they have a cult following in Texas, that's why.
After the hit Possum Kingdom they wanted to ride their fame with a new album and tour. Their record label said no to their new album so they lost their fame since they didn't make anything else soon after that hit CD.
I think they redid that whole album recentley and are trying to get a record label onboard(not sure about the last part).
The band was great but the thread was more about the venue.
I only know one toadies song...and for the longest time I thougt it was Janes addiction or something.

It's a great place...I've been there several times...it actually made the New York Times top ten "outdoor venue" locations in the USA. I like to get a group together and rent one of the VIP areas up on the second floor...no lines to the bar up there and get to look down at the riff-raff and people watch...
It vaguely reminded me of being on a balcony in New Orleans during Mardi Gras without the beads...

If all their songs sounded like "Possum Kingdom" I'd probably like them better. I love that song, but have never been able to get into any of their other stuff.
