Good points. Unfortunately much of season three was a waste. It should have ended with the assault on the prison, as you said. Then season four begin with them on the run and separated.

Sounds like a perfect excuse for some character development, which is why the writers avoid the subject.
"Oh, hey, I know this little girl is obviously a complete whack job who seems to think that zombies are awesome and wants us all to become one, but lets leave her alone with this other little girl and a baby and not expect bad things to happen".

I wouldn't say they were unnecessary, but they did beat us over the head with them. the first would have sufficed imo.

You know the flashback at the end . I read it could be foreshadowing that Beth will save them. Hence there's a new sheriff in town.
or how about the fact that they have a world filled with dead and no diseases? I found that to be comical, they probably heard the criticism and then decided to dedicate a couple of episode to meningitis...I mean...really?
TBH, I agree at some level.... but you have to realize at some point.... it is a freaking TV show.... If it was based in reality, all of you would be dead and I would probably be one of the only survivors that remembers Spurstalk.
Look.... everyone knows this is fake.... Just like about 98% of movies from Hollywood.... Why do people get so worked up about "realism" when it comes to entertainment? It is so annoying when my friends do it (questioning action sequences and what not). Everyone knows it is fake! Why try and forcefully suspend the fiction to try and show your superiority about reality that everyone already understands in the first place? Why ruin the mood? There are shows out there that are for that type of discussion, like Cosmos and Beyond the wormhole.
I cant stand wrestling, but I'm not going to be a ing about it and rewind to show my best friends kids that the punch was fake or that it was obvious that the wrestlers communicated to each other on what their next move was. It's like taking someone to a Marvel or DC movie and explaining every inconsistency throughout the movie.... People know it's fake, get over it and quit ruining the fun of it.

You are absolutely right, but they decided to make it scientifically translatable in the first season when Jenner let them know that the brain stem was the only active part remaining in the walkers. Now every episode since, they contradict all that when they try and kill the walkers, completely missing the back of the head. a technicality from 2 seasons ago about a fictional universe where the living dead walk on the earth..... That is what you are hung up on? Seriously? THAT is exactly what I am talking about.... let it go. Stop trying to make this as a "survival guide" for the zombie apocalypse and just enjoy it as a TV show. Going to show my age, but General Hospital (and other shows during that time) were NEVER based on reality. It was just entertainment.... that is what The Walking Dead is.... entertainment...... They never claimed at all to be based on possible or probable events.... it is just simply entertainment.... Don't get so worked up over the details.

The fact that they have zero activity in the other areas was to show why they aren't who they once were and the brain stem maintains the basic functions that you see in the walkers (Jenner explicitly stated this too). It was in the season finale when you were supposed to also learn that everybody is infected...a big episode.

You missed my point.... It is a TV show. Not a do entary or something like that.... It requires a suspension of belief in reality. Why question an obvious fictional universe meant to entertain and compare it to reality? Everyone knows it is fake.... it is just entertainment. It's like getting all technical about when superman reversed the spin of the earth to reverse time in Superman 2. We all know it's bull , but why about it? it's a movie.

Both Brasky and Phyzik have good points. You already know what you're going to get with TWD. Ever since Darabont left to do his mafia fetish show, the show has fallen into a malaise of unrealistic happenings and some solid points. It still lacks in developing characters but it maybe is a good thing as you don't cultivate any long lasting empathy because you don't know who'll be sticking around. I don't know. I enjoy the show in light of all that could be implausible. Entertainment indeed.

A show is free to make up whatever rules it wants in its show. But once it sets the rules up, it can't violate it's own internal logic. When it does it bothers people who then don't like the show making it irrelevant. Then nobody cares about the "entertainment" value of it and it gets canceled.
Yeah, holy did his character get ing annoying. And how about the flashbacks to earlier episodes where he's supposed to be like 10 or whatever and he's all awkward and gangly
