I know I live under a rock but I just started watching Breaking Bad. I'm only on Episode 3, though I know how the show ends its pretty solid thus far. I seriously loved TWD, but the show sucks now. I commonly hear people acknowledging that the show has lost its way. Since Shane died the show has only had a few solid episodes like the Governor dying episode, Rick reuniting with the black dude with a kid, etc. However, 90% of the episodes since are re ed

1) talk talk talk talk talk
2) Zombie dies here and there
3) talk talk talk talk, disagree a litle talk talk
4) End the episode on a slightly interesting note but still feel underwhelmed
5) Preview for next episode: EPIC AWESOME SHOOTOUT OMFG SOMEONE ALMOST DIES OMFG!!!

Then you watch the episode and its the same exact as I posted from 1-5

As I've asked like a dozen people in this thread: why do you continue to watch? Is it some TV hipster thing where you continually watch the show JUST to dump on it?

I don't read the comics but this Negan character sounds pretty cool, apparently "a thousand times worse than the governor".

Okay, so it sounds like the world of AMC's The Walking Dead will have 99 problems, and Negan will most certainly be one.

At least, that is according to 'TWD' creator, Robert Kirkman. In an interview with MTV News, he said this about the infamous villain from the comics:

But I wouldn't expect Negan too terribly soon, although he is definitely in the plan. It's a 99% lock that he's going to be in the show eventually, so be on the lookout for that.

Be on the lookout for Negan's debut in the show I will definitely do! I have yet to read the comics, to my dismay. However, I have friends who have read them up to the current issue, and they all are very informed on just who this Negan guy is. All of them are in agreement: Negan is precisely a thousand times worse than Philip (a.k.a. the Governor). If that is indeed the case, then I can understand why the character making the transition from the comics to the television series is a "99% lock" so far, rather than a 100% lock.

Based on what my fellow 'TWD'-viewing friends have shared with me, Negan does excruciatingly painful things to people. He happens to have a pal in the form of a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire; the bat even has a name - Lucille. Upon my request, my friends have not revealed too much. The few things they have shared with me, though, have made me cringe a bit. But, it got me wondering, how much of that violence can/will be shown in the show?

Obviously, showrunner Scott Gimple and the rest of the show's makers have proven to us that they are practically fearless when it comes to making the zombie apocalyptic world as believable and barbaric as possible. The two best, most concise examples I can give are: (1) the killings that occurred during "The Grove" - Lizzie stabbing and killing her sister, Mika; Carol shooting Lizzie in the head, and (2) the scene from the season four finale ("A") in which Dan (now-deceased former member of Joe's group) was harassing Carl, and was about to do much worse. The fact that the show's makers are not afraid of portraying kids committing violent acts, and/or portraying them as the victim of a violent act, demonstrates that the limits to what can be displayed in the show are seemingly indefinite.

As a result, the idea of bringing Negan to the show was one I am sure Kirkman, Gimple and the rest of the crew discussed at length for a long time. On one hand, fans of the show who have also read the comics most probably will be excited to see the murderous, sadistic, villainous Negan in the show. On the other hand, will Negan from the show be as sadistic and as violent as Negan from the comics? Will the show's makers have to tone him down a bit to meet AMC's standards (if the network even has any major ones)?

Of course, this all falls under the assumption that the character will make his TV debut at some point. As Kirkman stated, it is a "99% lock." So, it is perhaps safe to make the aforementioned assumption.

Lastly, If/when Rick and his group escape Gareth and the rest of Terminus, they will most likely be out on the road again searching for a safer place to live in. I am inclined to predict that will happen during the latter portion of the second half of season five. By then, the show would be in need of a new major antagonist. Would this be the right time to introduce Negan? Or, should he be introduced at the start of a brand new season? Personally, I would not mind him appearing earlier, just so he can provide us viewers with more to look forward to, if there is a season six (which will almost undoubtedly happen).

I thought Rick's response was powerful, Eva. The tortured anguish was exquisite. I wonder where he went to get it? It encompassed guilt, blame to his son, blame on humanity, blame on God. And a keen disbelief even though he knew it was going to happen.

Rewatching some of these episodes...so much lazy writing. In an open field, walkers are loud as . In a forest with a bunch of leaves, they're trained commandos who don't make noise until they strike. Instead of making noise to draw walkers away from a fence, lets just be really quiet and feed them our pigs. Running low on ammo? Put it in full auto mode. Carl. Let's have walkers able to climb fences, then have them barely able to walk, then have them run, then have them use tools, then have them be oblivious to obvious living people, then etc etc etc. I think I'm done with this show. lol

They said that it can go that far, possibly but its highly unlikely. People will get tired of this by season 7 and they'll probably wrap it up then. Also dont see the main actors staying on a show for that long unless they each get pay James Gandolfini type money back when he was getting a million an episode for teh Sopranos.

Personally, the writers of this show got lazy as tbh. The show still gets ratings even tho it's directionally.

Season 1, when directed by darabont was potentially on par with season 3 of breaking bad. Season 4-5 of BB went to another ing level that TWD head writers will never sniff.

There is something deeply rooted in the Zombie genre. Yes, there'd been flirtation thru the decades, but, ground zero hit with Romero in '68. Community standards in association with law enforcement entering the view finder and staying there thru the release of "Dawn of the Dead" a decade later when Romero blocked the plate with a NR designation. We've never looked back.

To this day the original "Dawn" is an affecting film. Watching Gaylen Ross tend the bitten & soon to turn "Roger" is a seminal sequence in film, regardless of genre. The love, frustration, the anger, and then when there is no more, the resignation as she throws the empty syringe to the floor never grows old. One wants to rise to their feet here, theater or living room. It's film at it's finest hour.

The writing on the show is borderline re ed at this point.

When Maggie loses her sister and Glen after the prison falls, not once did she mention to the cast that she is looking for her sister. The entire focus was Glen, she seemed to move on from her sister within seconds but kept writing on the walls GLEN FIND ME AT TERMINUS
