To all the Refridgerator Nazis who, when tasked with the simple task of cleaning out the office fridge periodically, can't think for themselves, and realize that maybe, just maybe, the peanut butter and jelly in the door that isn't anywhere near the "sell date", doesn't go in the same class of abandoned half-eaten restaurant meals.

Seriously? Can't you ers use just a little common sense?

I don't refrigerate peanut butter even though I buy the super oily organic from Costco that separates at room temperature. I'm sorry you lost your Jif, Skippy, or dare I suggest Adam's, but in the future you would be well off to rely on room temp peanut butter, rather than your co-worker's common sense. Or lack thereof.

There was one instance where I brought my lunch into work (it was post-Thanksgiving, so it was a sandwich crafted from leftovers) and I put it in the staff refrigerator only to find someone took a couple bites from it when I went to retrievei t for lunch. Now, I'm as easygoing and laid back as they come, but this was just wrong. If you're going to steal my lunch (at all), please at least don't insult my culinary ability by just eating a few bites. Eat the whole damn sandwich so I can feel like I at least made something more than just sufficient.

*I hate cold peanut butter so I keep my Trader Joe's organic PB at room temp and I always get a distinguishable face when I see that the peanut oil has seperated from the protein when you're dealing with the organic stuff.

Our fridge here is freaking repulsive, and I never use it. When I bring my lunch, I have a little insulated bag that works just fine.

PB&J in the fridge screws up the consistency of the PB and J, imo.

Yes peanut butter should stay at room temp or else it totally wrecks the bread.

Although, just to play Devil's advocate, it could be the person whose forks you're bringing home instead of ours.

The fridge at my office is cleaned every 2 or 3 weeks and there is a note left on it a day or two before they clean it. It doesn't matter if you have fresh food in there or not. It will get dumped if you don't get it out of there first. My guess is that something similar happened at your place.

that. Put your name on it then lace that pie with Exlax and watch for the guy/gal who goes back and forth to the bathroom all day.

    You win two ways.

    a) You know who the loser is and b) they know never totouch anything with your name on it ever again.

Well pumpkin pie filling costs what? a buck fifty? a ready-made crust... some Exlax...

Can't cost more than 5 bucks tops.

Well worth the entertainment value, I guess.

I didn't really intend on "getting" anyone who got into my pie with that. I just thought that since I was the only one who would be eating it, keeping it clean that way would simply let me not waste any. I REALLY love pumpkin pie.

That I get the empty satisfaction of givng the pie thief my cooties was simply some cold comfort.

I am considering writing a grumpy post-it and sticking it in the pie box.

I usually store organic, all-natural, PB in my fridge

Is it ok to store it in the pantry, consdering there is no preservative?

(I hate to put PB in the fridge, because it hardens up and doesnt get any easier to spread on toast)
