This is all hypothetical of course but, I disagree, North Korea will go for the largely populate cities such as New York and Boston, etc. Chaos will ensue in the nation and the U.S would have no other option but to send military personnel dedicated in securing the large cities and escorting it's civilians.
Military bases are fine and dandy, but why destroy a couple of military bases when you can hit America's core.

If North Korea uses a nuke against the US you're not going to have any warning. What they'll do is sneak it into the US, set it up and then make some belligerent move against South Korea or the west.

They can't even sneak in ingredients separately that cause an explosion when spliced.

No, seriously...I would hope that I am with my gf and my family at the same time since L.A. would probably be one of the first metropolitan areas to be nuked. I mean, those would be the easiest choice. The Laker fan in me would be happy to be @ Staples Center for Game 7 and us up by like 20pts on our way to another 3-peat and then BLAM! The end of the world happens...we go out on top and though we're going to be tied with the Celtics, it would still be special to have croaked on said moment.
