Dirk should be #1
Figure we'd have a thread for this here, updated whenever something of relevance occurs, instead of making redundant threads about it..
As of now, I would go:
1- Derrick Rose
2- Lebron James
3- Kevin Durant
4- Dwight Howard
5- Dirk Nowitzki
6- Amare Stoudemire
7- Kobe Bryant
8- Manu Ginobili
9- Dwyane Wade
10- Chris Paul
How would you guys rank it?..
Dirk should be #1
1. Chris Paul
2. Lebron James
3. Dwight Howard
4. Zach Randolph
5. Derrick Rose
6. Kevin Durant
7. Steve Nash
8. Kobe Bryant
9. Tim Duncan
10. Russell Westbrook
agree with HH list for the most part but Dirk is too high (only cuz of injury and games missed) but if Bron goes nuts on Sunday I may move Lebron to #1 over Rose ...
1- Lebron James
2- Derrick Rose
3- Dwight Howard
4- Dirk Nowitzki
5- Kevin Durant
6- Amare Stoudemire
7- Kobe Bryant
8- Chris Paul
9- Manu Ginobli
10- Dwyane Wade
1. lebron
2. dirk
3. rose
4. howard
5. durant
switch 2 and 5 with each other and its fine
i seriously hope rose wins it
nobody wants to see lebron winnin 3 straight mvps
cosigned to and back son
I did a double take there thinking "Wow, did this guy really keep Dirk off his list? Really" I couldn't believe it. I checked the list again
Chris Paul...Lebron James..Dwight Howard....
Ctrl+F "Dirk" not found.
Nope, you definitely solidified yourself as possibly being the most idiotic and uninformed person on this board. Possibly. I'm toying with the notion of upgrading that assessment to "probably" instead of just "possibly."
What do you think? Are you just possibly the most phenomenally uninformed person on this board, or are you probably the most uninformed person on this board?
That's not even the biggest joke about the list.
lol Duncan
That too, but I figured I'd highlight the most egregious and, frankly speaking, asinine qualities of his list first and foremost.
Lebron is the MVP, there's no way that the urkels on the Heat would even be on the radar without him winning games for them. But the best evidence is the Cavs free fall.
1. LeBron
2. Rose
3. Howard
4. Dirk
5. Durant
1- drose 2-dirk, and bron cant win this he has wade and bosh with him
Take Wade away with an injury and the Heat struggle to make the playoffs. Wade is too important to the Heat for Lebron to be the MVP this year.
Are you joking?
It's a toss between dirk and rose. Dallas is horse without him and I could only imagine how Bulls would fare if Rose got sidelined....
I made a thread a few months back where I pointed out the MVP award goes to the best player on the team with the best record more often than not. The Hornets were doing well then, so Chris Paul was a legit contender. Missing from your list is Rajon Rondo, so I make it top 11.
As of today we can toss out Paul, Howard, Stoudamire, and Durant since their records are good, but not conference leading.
So on this basis, we could say top 7 based on team record would be
1. Ginobili
2-4 Rondo, James, Wade
5. Rose
6. Nowitzki
7. Bryant
Now, what makes an MVP other than the team record? MVP says most valuable to a team. I believe James and Wade will lose some votes due to splits, but have to put James ahead between the two. I am putting Dirk on top simply because they suffered when he missed 9 games. I doubt the Spurs lose many if Manu misses 9 games.
So here's my top 7:
1. Nowitzki
2. Ginobili
3. James
4. Rondo
5. Bryant
6. Rose
7. Wade
Followed by the other guys, no order. Stoudamire will get some votes because he has turned the Knicks around, much like Oscar's lone MVP award back in the 60's, and Kareem's in 1976.
Ginobili, Rose, and Rondo are new to all this, so that may hurt them come voting time. The race is very close, anyone could win. I think it's good there is no clear cut favorite and every position in the finish order is too close to call.
How did you guys forget about Deron Williams???
1. LeBron
2. Dirk
3. Rose
4. Paul
5. Deron
6. Howard
7. Durant
8. Amare
9. Kobe
10. Love
Its either Dirk or Rose.
I would like to throw in the wildcard Amare. They are actually relevant again with him and if they finish off strong into the playoffs I would make a serious case for him. That jew is averaging 27/9
I was unaware that having good teammates precluded you from an MVP discussion. I guess Michael Jordan's 5 MVPs don't count because he had Pippen, Shaq's doesn't count because of Kobe, and Bird's don't count because he had a metric ton of HoFers on his team, either.
1-Rose
2-Lebron
3-Dirk
But if the Mavs end up with a better record than the Heat and the Bulls,
I'd like to see Dirk get the MVP.
