They still haven’t found him!!! 18 years on the run. Damn
American Murderer on Hulu
8.5/10
Damn good movie. Dude is bat sheit crazy.
They still haven’t found him!!! 18 years on the run. Damn
Thor (2011) : 4/10
very corny in typical Marvel fashion, plot itself wasn't terrible and your typical Shakespearean stuff. Meh. Not my type of movie but the woman in my life right now wanted to see it.
Moms can be finicky like that
I left a hanging curveball over home plate and good for you to get that base hit, thankfully it wasn't SFS to homer it the outta the park.
Not sure how you can get a 'bend over' out of that but then again that's his area of expertise
he's the jokemaster don't you know. I'm pretty sure most of his Avante era jokes didn't include "bend over"
Classic German film. Mir hat es sehr gut gefallen.
Top Gun I (1986): 7.5/10
Primitive, dated, but great for its time
Top Gun II Maverick (2022): 8.5/10
Excellent, and you had to have watched the first one to really appreciate this one, and so I did the night before. Fantastic movie and fantastic that they kept the plot and even the music from the original.
also, the other night re-watched The Details (2011) and it's a 7/10 for me, good B tier movie with solid cast, but a little overrated compared to the first movie, still solid plot with a good message
Surprised you haven't weighed in on The Idol yet.
HBO.
You and your mom haven't watched it yet?
Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny:
Stand alone movie: 4/10
Merging with the others: 6.5/10
Just not fun like the first movies. I would have loved even some cheesy 80s action jokes or slap stick but ended up really dry. I would have been okay with fleabag if they gave her a better script. Puss in Boots appearance completely worthless and wasted.
Thor was stupid. Corny and cheesy
^ nvm, already posted about that, geez summer time flies though it feels like it's been an eternity with being cooped up inside due to this heat and not being able to travel this year
Late Night NBC Conan was the best Conan.
The Sound of Freedom (2023), 7.5/10. Would have been a whole lot better if it weren't such low budget and it showed. Loved the plot and it really tackles one of the world's biggest humanitarian issues. But parts of the movie effects played out like some Nollywood knock-off "D" movie and that's I believe due to the extremely low budget.
Despite no A-list actors it was overall pretty good acting. Props to the producers and film makers
Ridley Scott & Joaquin Phoenix
Thanksgiving
So was Letterman. A lot less pressure and a lot more stuff they felt they could get away with at that time slot I guess
It looks great but det music might just ruin it for me.
Factos
I actually thought the low budget and lack of effects made it a better film tbh. With all the big budget effects, CGI, de-aging in Indiana Jones, and set piece action sequences in other films out right now it was kinda nice to see something scaled back that just relied on old school filmmaking to get the job done.
Agree on the acting performances though. They nailed it without a single A-lister. Bravo.
also I don't get how some media pundits particularly on the left of center are politicizing the movie saying it's only good for GOP or QAnon audience as if child sex trafficking is something purposely the left wing wants to be swept under the rug for power/political purposes.
I don't think the movie was partisan at all, but certain people make it out to be. And it's most certainly not racist. Main character white as milk but loves those brown Colombian kids as his own.
