Happy Gilmore technically a sports movie; if so, probably top 15.
Just honoring its legacy, TBH, I'd rather watch Bull Durham for the second or third time than Rocky(s) for the umpteenth time.
Yea, I think they did a bad job of simulating the boxing with no blocking.

Well sure but the beauty of the internet is you don't have to suffer through a mediocre 90 minutes of comedy for a minute-long ty scene.
Yikes, 2?
We're just gonna have to agree to disagree.
You probably want to rewrite that; but if I have to guess what you're trying to say, No Country For Old Men doesn't hold a candle to The Natural.
Moneyball didn't even get a ring in real life. My 02 Angels made sure of that.
Not what you said; I'm saying it.
i dont question them. i just disagree with them.
i dont hate NCFOM. it wasnt something i had to force myself to sit through or anything like that. i just dont think it was great or memorable.
you do you, man
The main plot of the movie is the school jock falling in love with a 5 after joining Glee Club.
who?
This is the real Money Ball, son.
The villain Bonds even goes away with no ring.
yeah moneyball is a good one too. that early scene with all the scouts around the table was pretty great.
but imo the movie minimized billy beane quite a bit. he just did whatever the fat kid told him to do the entire way. besides the trade deadline scene.
why dont you like the movies i like
not the main plot, but thats accurate af
There Will be blood had a plot and nuance. It wasn't just some fapper's fantasy killings.
NCFOM agitates people because it's a noir in western clothing. I don't see how people could get upset after the subversion precedent had been set years before by McCabe and Mrs. Miller and Unforgiven, now it's just modern day.
The Natural copped out by not subverting expectations like the novel did, but it was the right move in the Reagan era.
Lots of great films mentioned here. I keep coming back to Lone Star. After all this time, I still can't think of any way that $3 million movie could be improved.
Suck me, beautiful
Oh yeah, and best sports movie?
It's A League of Their Own.
NCFOM and Unforgiven are not in the same vain, dude.
And the sports pick.
evidently, so does my having a different taste than you
My top ten, today, without giving much thought...
Back to the Future
Goodfellas
The Godfather
Once Upon a Time in the West
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
The Shawshank Redemption
On the Waterfront
Seven Samurai
Menace II Society
City of God
I’ll throw Usual Suspects into the mix. Not my #1 but top 10ish. Used to be higher but it’s lost something over the years imo.
Since it's vein, you're probably right.
