I finally watched the whole series from 1-8 over the last couple of weeks. The ending wasn't great but it was better than I was expecting after hearing how bad it was supposed to be.
Maybe it's worse if you have to wait a year to see it. IDK.

But why the did the Night King throw his spear at the flying dragon when he could have just killed Drogon while Dany was sitting on him. Then finish her off as well.

In theory, binging this show should expose it even more. Did you not see a huge drop off in quality from seasons 5-8?

I guarantee you went "huh?" "the " "that makes no sense whatsoever" "lol this is ing trash" to " season 8" throughout the said seasons.

What they did to Jon's character made no ing sense and in my opinion killed any rewatchability the series had. Jon was basically less important than Ramsay Bolton.

Honestly, since I binged, the lines between seasons is blurry. For sure the earlier stuff was more consistently better episode to episode. But I didn't ever start thinking, this is trash.

He brought down the Wall and ed up his relationship with his aunt/girlfriend so bad that she killed a million people. That's our main character . Expectations were subverted so much that he might as well have not been resurrected. The Wall and King's Landing would still be standing.
