Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson was hard at work over the weekend, buckling down for a marathon session of coding. No, that doesn't mean he managed to finish the Adventure Update. What he did do was enter the Ludum Dare, 48-hour game-making contest, creating a dungeon crawler that you can play right now called Prelude of the Chambered.

Persson was a surprise celebrity entrant in the rapid game creation community's latest event, where designers were challenged to make a game based on the theme "Escape."

Posting on his blog, Notch said of Chambered: "It's an action-based dungeon crawler with six levels, four boss fights, and plenty of secrets and loot. It takes about 20-30 minutes to beat the game, and if you die, you need to start over from the beginning."
