Considering this guy was my boss (way up the chain of course) and I currently owe my livelihood to him, very sad and shocking.
Not looking forward to my stock in the morning. I would drop it now, but I'm sure its frozen.
Very sad, breaking news:

Computers, tablets, cell phones, and personal music devices, he changed them all and changed Apple into the behemoth it is today.
Can't say enough how he changed the world and not just the tech industry.
CNN called him "a modern day Thomas Edison" and I agree with that. RIP
Hits the nail on the head.
I'm still at work, and it's very somber inside the Apple walls right now.
I don't really like the guy, and am not a fan of the company, but I do have to say this... I cannot dispute the fact that his and his company's success has completely pushed the envelope and made old behemoths (like microsoft) and new ones (like google) up their game a few levels and I believe we (and at least I) have benefited greatly from that compe ion.
Amazing innovator. The way this news has cut across every medium and blown everything else away just shows how much he's touched us. There's 3 sub forums on ST right now with Jobs threads and my Twitter timeline is 95% Steve Jobs related attm.
And can't forget how he bought this computer graphics department from Lucasfilm, changed its name to "Pixar" and changed animation forever after some initial troubles.
My thoughts exactly. Dammit I wish he wasn't dead. I was always looking forward to his next technological advancement.
RIP iCon
A game changer
And thank you for making Hater the troll he is today.

So he stole all the inventions of other people and passed them off as his own?
I don't think it's off base to say he stole inventions. However, virtually everything Apple did they did better. Believe me if you could do it you would, so would I but I can't, because it's a talent, a skill.
The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward.
Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?
Here's to the crazy ones....
RIP Steve was a freak genius. He thought from the inside looking out, when most of us think from the outside looking in.
Genius inventor + genius businessman can be counted with one hand in the entire world history.
Smart man to say the least. R.I.P
Props to Google. Check out google.com:
Yeah I noticed that, thought it was pretty classy.
RIP Steve, you died happy knowing Apple cemented its place in the world.
Classy move by Google.
We're all losers as consumers today. I hope Apple continues innovating and pushing the envelope.
never been a fan of Apple, i think its more of a class or rich thing than the actual product, however with no apple we dont get android. those two competing is awesome even if apple is trying to sue them out. apple definitely had a bad week. pahtetic press conference, Tim cook is too shy to deliver the iphone announcement and then this. To the person who had stocks. my condolences. One thing i love him for is he brought me Toy story.
very sad. Like Apple or not. cancer.
