But you have to format it to the Xbox first I believe. Not the whole drive you can tell it how much to used for the Xbox. That's what I did with my 16gb USB drive.

Is this internal? What the is an external then? I wasn't aware that you could install an internal HDD to a 4g MU Slim... this is all news to me.

Okay, it depends on what you're talking about. I have the 250GB XBOX 360 Slim - you can install games to the hard drive (internal). You can also install games onto flash drives connected to the USB port (up to 16GB).

If you have a 4GB XBOX 360 Slim, you can choose to buy that 250GB in the link you posted to add more storage.

I'm talking about the internal HD then. I need one to install Skyrim so I'm not spinning the disc constantly risking it getting scratched.

I just wanted to make sure if I purchase an internal HD I can install my game to it so I don't have to spin my disc.

I meant to say internal then I suppose. So pretty much I can turn my 4gig MU into a 250gig HDD that easily?

And do you have any opinions on aftermarket HDD's? They are a lot cheaper.

Yeah you can buy the HD in your link to expand the drive no problem.

I have no idea about aftermarket HDs for the 360 slim, but I imagine they need to be hack/modified in some way. I'm sure Microsoft only allows proprietary HDs in the machines.

Well on eBay from a trusted/top seller they have sold over 5K of them, they average 10 sold a day. I think I'll take my chance on it, they have a 180 day return policy as well.
