Computer Re here needs some help please

So whenever I transfer videos from my phone to my computer, they play incredibly choppy on my PC. My phone is an iPhone 4s (lol hater), so it's 1080p video if that makes a difference. I've used WMP and Quicktime, which is all I've got really, so maybe I just have video players that are too crappy for it. Also my computer is 3 years old (3 gigs RAM) so maybe that's the problem too. I'm a moron with this stuff so any help would be appreciated.

Also if there's any good free dvd creating software that supports .mov files that you fine people can suggest, I'd appreciate that as well.

Did you try to play it in iTunes?

Also, are you iTunes and Quicktimes up to date?

What kind of screen do you have?

Also, make sure you have kpac codec lite installed

And check if you have the latest drivers for your graphic card


BTW, im a computer moron too, so I may be way off.

I tried iTunes and that was the worst of the 3. yes they're up to date. also googling it just had a bunch of assholes hawking some stupid "speed up your computer!" .

no clue about the codec thing or graphic card, I guess I should figure that out.

A few pointers:

- Download and try playing in VLC, as pointed out. If video is still choppy there it's very likely your computer just can't handle playback of HD video in real time. Upgrading your video card for something relatively newer might just help you there.

- The fact that your computer might not be able to play them fast enough doesn't mean you can't convert them to a DVD and then watch it in DVD format. Don't forget that the video will lose resolution/quality in the process, since DVD video is not HD.

- If you're using Vista or Windows 7, you can download Microsoft Movie Maker 2011 for free. It will let you cut and edit videos from your phone, add transitions, etc. Don't expect anything too fancy like chroma-keying or picture-in-picture. But it will let you burn the compilation with Windows DVD Maker.

- For something more fancy, you can look at Adobe Premiere Elements 8.
