Messi again it seems, would be bad. Xavi deserves it for the last 3-4 years...
Would agree with it as a reward for his carrier, not because he's better than either of the other two.

Barca have been with Xavi and have been great with Xavi. Same with Spain. He's just not the difference maker, or anywhere near the same level like the Messis, Ronaldinhos and Rivaldos and a few others that he played with, like people are pretending these days.

I hope Xavi wins. It's not a knock on Leo, but Xavi really deserves to win one.

If Xavi didn't win it last year he's never winning it.

There's no way he wins it this year, when last year he had a more deserving year. It's going to Messi.

Can't argue with Messi winning it, but I really hope Xavi gets it some time as well.

i can't believe how many people i've heard say xavi should've won it every single one of u that believe that are completely re ed

xavi is a glorified riquelme tbh, nothing wrong with that as both of them are very good players but nowhere close to being GOATs. wat exactly are they elite in other than vision/passing/assists? when do u ever see them take on multiple defenders using there speed or dribbling? xavi isn't even the best mid in the world (iniesta) much less the best player

Vision/passing/assists are a major components of soccer. And midfielders that have possess theseed attributes have won the award several times in history (Zidane, Figo, Nedved).

Iniesta the best midfielder inthe world? You should be able to play a month without getting injured, that alone makes him the third-best midfielder on his ing team. WTF are you smoking?

lol at comparing xavi to in zidane or even figo

on top of having the vision and passing ability xavi has, those players had way more skill wit the ball...again how often do u see xavi take on multiple defenders on his own? he's a very good player and very good at what he does (set players up) but far from a GOAT like zidane

Messi once entered the bedroom of a girl with whom he hoped to score. The girl tells him to get comfortable and she leaves the room to go freshen up. To her amazement, when she returns, she finds him lying on the bed completely nude with two other naked guys and shouts; "WHAT'S GOING ON?"...Smiling Messi calmly replies: "I am sorry dear, but I can't perform without Xavi and Iniesta!"

    Ok.

Now seriously, why do people tend to overrate old players/stuff so much. It's ok to have memory and remember all those great players but football nowadays is a lot harder than back then, players are more prepare, there's more/better compe ion, etc, etc. I understand the greatness of those players but I'm not going to go around overrating them just for the sake of it, specially 'cause I haven't seen most of them play, and I'm sure most of the people that talk about them haven't seen them either.

Messi will go down as a Top 3 player in history, and is probably the greatest athlete in the world right now.

    Ronaldo is not even close.
