What was the matter with Chavez's gloves and why are boxers allowed to do whatever they want (for ex: not taking drug tests) instead of beign forced to do things for the legitimy of the compe ion like in any other sport?
There was nothing wrong with his gloves. He doesn't have to weigh them. As far as the drug testing that's all on the commission. Texas Commission is one of the worst.

edit: Kevin Iole said they did end up getting a sample before the fight according to a source and freddy roach

I was watching the fight, how pathetic for Ortiz...

He thought he was going to cruise without a scratch on his face, ended up with broken jaw and gave up against an inferior opponent.

    Bute Hypetrain finally ends

No sooner than this leaves Eastern Canada, he gets his asshole torn .........

He wasn't ready for Ward at 68 and this was huge for Froch after losing to Ward as well ....... could set up some form of rematch.

    Chavez steamrolled Andy Lee tonight.

He's fighting Sergio Martinez next on September 15th

Andy Lee got worked. I know his liver and kidneys were asking to stop the fight by the 4th ....... my only beef with that fight was the ring. They couldn't find a sandbox or something. Lee had nowhere to go - , when he fought in the center of the ring he was still on the damn ropes.

    Andrew Golota faces deportation

CHICAGO -- Retired heavyweight Andrew Golota could be deported from the United States to his native Poland.

The 44-year-old boxer's case is in court and his wife, Mariola Golota, told The Chicago Tribune that a decision is expected in September.

Golota was a le contender with bouts against Mike Tyson (2000) and two against Rid Bowe in 1996 that ended in disqualifications for throwing low blows. He also won a bronze medal at the 1988 Olympics.

Golota lives in the Chicago suburb of Northbrook as a legal permanent resident of the U.S., but a criminal background check was triggered when he filed paperwork to become an American citizen.

Golota pleaded guilty in a 2006 Cook County case involving a dozen firearms found in his home. Golota's firearm owner's identification card was temporarily revoked at the time. He also pleaded guilty in Will County in 2003 to impersonating a police officer. Golota was accused of flashing an honorary New Jersey police badge when he was pulled over in the Chicago suburbs.

Mariola Golota said the deportation case is "this big, black cloud that's hanging over our family." An attorney and U.S. citizen, she said her husband is treated more harshly because of his celebrity.

"I'm just hopeful that it's going to turn out OK. It's kind of out of your hands," Mariola Golota said. "Andrew paid dearly for whatever he did. You pay once when you plead guilty and then you pay again, and that's much harsher."

Since his retirement, Golota has appeared in a commercial for the U.S. Census Bureau and on Poland's version of "Dancing With the Stars."

    that sucks .......

    Antonio Tarver tests positive

Cruiserweight contender Antonio Tarver tested positive for the anabolic steroid drostanolone in a pre-fight urine test conducted by the California State Athletic Commission for his June 2 fight with Lateef Kayode, Steve Feder, Kayode's manager, told ESPN.com on Friday.

Tarver, the former light heavyweight world champion, fought Kayode to a 12-round draw at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., in a the main event of a Showtime-televised quadrupleheader.

"That is correct. Mr. Tarver tested positive for a banned substance," George Dodd, the executive officer of the California commission, told ESPN.com.

    never good .......

I wouldn't go that far.. he was actually dominating the fight until he broke his jaw.

yeah, but this falls under that "when the going gets tough, the tough gets going" category. We don't know how much pain he was going through with the jaw and will come back to fight another day, but this was shades of Maidana all over again .......

    Yeah Danny Garcia!!!
boxing is really just a matter of inches ....... three punches were thrown in the exchange of the first KO ....... Khan threw two that barely landed and Garcia threw a bomb that connected at a point of the fight where Khan was pretty much up .......

As far as Haye and Chisora, that was funny ........ Haye shut that fat ass up. But if he goes up against one of the Klitschkos again, that's his ass .....

    Serious?

At the weigh-in he lifted his hands straight up no problem. Doesn't seem like it's broken.

I had Martinez winning but if this elbow thing is true Chavez will take it.

    edit: Weigh in vid:

Elbow looks fine there.. Meanwhile Chavez looks like a zombie.

They're both full of themselves but Martinez a little less so I'm hoping he knocks him out.

Chavez doesn't deserve to be undefeated... we've all seen a fight or two that was fixed.

    I'll be watching though.

Yeah, he said that in his last two fights (Barker and Macklin) he couldn't lift his left arm because of it and that he was very surprised to have knocked Macklin out with his left 'cause he didn't have any power on that arm.

Canelo vs Lopez is on tonight too. damn.

The Sowtime undercard >>>>>> HBO undercard.

WBC featherweight le: Jhonny Gonzalez vs. Daniel Ponce De Leon
    Seth Mitc vs. Johnathon Banks
Marcos Maidana vs. Jesus Soto Karass

But the HBO Main event >>>>>>>> Showtime main event

Think i'm going to watch the showtime undercard and then switch over to hbo for the main event tbh. I'll catch the canelo fight tomorrow.

Yeah, he said that in his last two fights (Barker and Macklin) he couldn't lift his left arm because of it and that he was very surprised to have knocked Macklin out with his left 'cause he didn't have any power on that arm.
hmm well we'll see if it affects him tonight.

In Argentina we're getting the Showtime undercard (because of Maidana) and the Martinez/Chavez fight all in the same channel for free and if they don't collide we might get the Canelo/Lopez fight too.

Sometimes it pays to be third World country resident.
