I read that the Lakers are trying to acquire Cuban.
Wouldn't mind a moron who would throw all his money at the chance to get a chip, tbh.
How would that be different than what you have? The Lakers had the highest payroll in the NBA last year.
Lakers turned a profit.
Red herring.
Buss spent the most of any owner last year in player salary. If he's not getting his money's worth, that's not the money's fault.
Not diverting attention at all, it is relevant. If your business turns a profit, subtract said profit from expenditures (ie luxury taxes). Buss' business turned a profit, so he recovered money he spent. I'm not really sure how much he had recovered, though.
Cuban on the other hand is a billionaire and wipes his ass with 100 dollar bills. He would just keep spending cash, no matter if Mavs aren't making his cash back.
Sorry, but your original point was that Cuban would spend any amount to win. When your team has the highest payroll in the league, and you aren't winning, you really don't have a leg to stand on.
The Lakers don't pay all that money just because they make a profit. They pay it to win.
The Mavs are not throwing all their money to get a chip. Claiming they do is just sour grapes from the losing side and it's really hypocritical as well.
