On top of everything that makes the Spurs a better situation for a nutcase I think a big factor would be having Jack on the team to help transform Blatche. Instead of walking into a situation and seeing everybody as different than him he'll have Jack who he can relate to.

I wouldn't mind going after this guy if he goes unclaimed.

Yep, there are tons of red flags around Blatche:
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...JmrW_blog.html

All these red flags could lead at no teams claiming him from waivers. A lot of teams might not even want him for free.
This is tragic if not hilarious....

i wonder what teams are interested in him.

and if the spurs could manage to help him get his act together.
He sounds like rather a lost cause to me. Some people are just idiots.

Gomes used to average about 12 points a game for several seasons and only scored 2 points a game in 32 games last year. Anybody know what happened? Will he clear in 48 hours?

No thanks on Gomes. There was a time where I liked his game - but no longer.

Even though he's a nut case I really like blatche. 6'11 guy who can score and block shots why not. 2 years ago he averaged 16 and 8 that's pretty good on my standards. Especially if we get him on the vet min. I really hope we can get him and finally maybe get rid of f'ing ginger.

There are just certain players you know the Spurs won't ever touch. Blatche is most likely on that list. I think if the Wiz thought he'd EVER come around, they'd have kept him, but he's been one continuous train wreck since he got into the league. He's not some kid anymore, he's a seven year veteran who STILL doesn't have his together.

I wonder what Spurs' plan is:

1.Trade Blair and then sign a PF.

2.Try to sign a PF no matter Blair is traded or not.

    3.Nothing.

    Just wondering...

Athleticism has never been an issue for past or present nuggets teams..They just can never put it together to make deeps runs in the playoffs, EVER....

Add me to the folks interested in Leuer.

Mel_13, how does the waiver process differ here than in the amnesty context? Can only cap space teams bid, same 48 hour window, etc.?

I'm interested in how Jonas pans out. If the Spurs were thinking about trading TP for him, he better be pretty damn good.

He will definitely get an increased workload with the Lithuania NT now with the Javtokas injury.

Nazr Mohammed is close to signing with the Brooklyn Nets, according to source. He'll likely sign for the veteran's minimum in next 24 hours.

Ronnie Price will likely sign a two-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers. It sounds like the second year will be a player option.

There's no bidding, although there is some sort of claim order. You have to be able to take the whole contract on to your payroll by the rules of the CBA.
