This guy is not just some other PG. He is arguably the best PG outside the NBA right now.
I wouldn't get my hopes up though. The Spurs can only offer what's left over from the MLE or BAE.

I'm interested in this guy too, but what would the Spurs do with all the guards if they were able to get him?
Smokescreen. When was the last time the Spurs signed a guy they really liked outside of the draft?
Just puts Neal more and more on the trading block.
The guy is very explosive.. if we get this guy, this guarantees a trade right?
Is this site reliable?
This rumor is very likely BS.
Spurs just don't have the money to sign a player like McCalebb.
Or need.
Why does every team in the NBA believe they need bigs but the Spurs? The Spurs must have the best frontline in the NBA.
We have to have some kind of trade in the works if the spurs are truly interested in anot
Ya'll say we have plenty of point guards but are Patty Mills, Nando De Colo, or Cory Joseph 100% legit backups? I don't buy into the rumor either, but it's not all that crazy to me.
Tony Parker - Bo McCalebb - Cory Joseph (D-League for 1 more year?)
Danny Green - Manu Ginobili - Nando De Colo (if CJ's D-League he can probably play both guard positions.)
If that were to happen though I'd expect Gary Neal = gone.
It is a crazy rumor. McCalebb is the best PG in Europe. Spurs absolutely don't have the money to sign him. Before looking at how he would fit in Spurs depth chart, the biggest reason to turn down this rumor is that it doesn't make sense money wise.
The likely explanation of this rumor is that Spurs were indeed interested in him a couple of months ago. For whatever reason, there is a leak now about it.
Ric Bucher @RicBucher
I'm on vacation but you know I can't pass a chance to serve and honor Jazz fans: Randy Foye signs 1 yr deal. Solid pick-up.
Utah Clippers. Mo and Randy reunited
Still they get a guy who, even if streaky, will provide a lot of 3s to space the floor for Millsap/Jefferson/Favors.
Mills is a legit backup PG in the NBA. He showed that in Portland, and again when he got to play for us last year. I'm surprised people have so little faith in him - the FO knows he's a balla or they would've let him walk.
20 points in 20 minutes to lead the Spurs in a blowout win over Cleveland.
27 points, torching Steve Nash in his last game as a Sun.
34 points and 12 assists playing alongside Cory Joseph/James Anderson/Derrick Byars/DeJuan Blair.
That Mills kid is another second round steal![]()
Mills has been pretty damn impressive. I can't seem to find a re-cap of yesterdays game anywhere, but the few comments I've heard have been strong.
Not exactly an impressive resume when you take a closer look. The Cavs game was over after a 32-18 1st quarter, in a game where Luke Walton played 18 minutes. Granted Mills scored efficiently, but it wasn't exactly against top level players or subs.
Then there is the Suns game in which Mills went 9-23 for 27 points while both Channing Frye and Grant Hill were injured and didn't play, and Nash played a total of 17 minutes. To put things in perspective Josh Childress, who the money conscious Suns felt was worth amnestying this off-season, played 21 minutes that same game. In fact with the exception of Ronnie Price, no one on the Suns played fewer minutes than Nash and yet they only lost by 4.
Then there was the final game against GSW. Again keep in mind this was a GSW team that had to lose in order to have a chance at keeping their lottery pick. So in order to do that they started 5 rookies, played a total of 7 players with Chris Wright and Jeremy Tyler logging 46 and 44 minutes respectively.
That's not to say the Spurs were at full strength, since the Big 3 didn't play in any of those games, and Splitter and Green played only limited minutes in the GSW win. However none of those games are particularly good indicators of how he will workout as a full-time backup PG for the Spurs.
PJ Tucker signs with the Suns

Kirilenko would play NBA next season?
^ looks like it:

Ronnie Brewer to the Knicks for the minimum.
Man, under this new CBA, it seems like if a player can't cash in, he just signs with one of the five biggest market teams.@ "parity"

It's weird that Kirilenko is making the move now to go back to the NBA. A lot of teams have no money left. I'm not sure if there are teams that are good fits for him and with enough money left.
I think the Timberwolves are the most likeliest destination for AK47. They just missed out on Batum, so they still have $10+ million cap space. Kirilenko might be a little old for this team but he can do a lot of the things that Batum would have provided.
Yeah, at first he wanted to come back to the NBA (CSKA coach said so in a article, along with other players not returning to CSKA), then he said he was coming back to CSKA, now he changed his mind again...
