still talking about us in here?
lol obsessed.
Just a reminder that the second scrimmage of fall camp was held tonight.
I hope we have one starting QB tomorrow. Ash needs to be pushed, but Case doesn't have the necessary arm strength and he never will.
I can't believe this one took so long. Seems he's been an attrition candidate forever.
Doesn't help in terms of freeing up a recruiting spot at this point, does it? Seeing as he is going into his senior season... maybe a few months ago...
Does anyone know yet where we can watch the first 2 games for free online yet? I remember last year, links were posted for the games we couldnt watch due to the LHN, and they worked great. Problem is, I don't remember what sites they were on.
Thanks!
i can only speak for myself but i will always enjoy a good joke at a&m's expense. if that makes me obsessed then guilty as charged.
and i must add the irony of being called obsessed by an a&m fan that checks/posts on longhorn thread all the time is not lost on me.

A'Shawn Robinson is now a 5* after moving up to #22 in latest Rivals rankings.
Swoopes dropped down to a 4*.
"With Swoopes, a lot of people felt we would simply free-fall him down the rankings, but he only fell nine slots overall," Farrell said. "Some thought we might move him to athlete as well, but he's going to be a quarterback in college. Swoopes is still pretty much what we thought he was, a very raw quarterback with great athletic upside. However, his field vision and mechanics really made us re-consider that fifth star and drop him down a peg. He's still a special prospect with an amazing ceiling, but he needs a lot of coaching."

Probably not. My first guess is that scholly will go to a senior walk-on.

Per 24/7, CB Cole Luke has added another official visit to his agenda. He'll be visiting Notre Dame for their match-up with Michigan on September 22nd. The only other visit he has booked is his October 6th trip to Austin.
Update on 2014 WR Cameron Sims of Monroe, LA from 24/7. He's currently ranked #104 in the country by that network.
“I’ve actually been talking to them some recently,” said Sims. “Coach (Stacey) Searels, my recruiter, and I last talked about two weeks ago. We basically just talked about how I feel about this upcoming season and about me playing both wide receiver and free safety. We also talked about offers since they’re offering 2014 players now.”
“They’re planning on offering me,” Sims told Hookem.com. “They said that they are going to come see me play first. Soon after that they should offer.”
“Right now my top four is LSU, Texas, Washington and then Alabama,” said the 6-foot-3, 190-pounder. “In that order too. But if Texas offers me, then it will be a tie for my number one school, even if LSU offers too.”
“After visiting Texas and Alabama I just think that Texas was the better school,” Sims explained. “They have a better campus and I also think that they utilize their wide receivers better than Alabama does. That’s why they jumped up and have a chance to be my number one.”
“I really like LSU,” he said. “They have great fan support. They support the team day in and day out. They’re crazy and wild over their team. I also like the fact that my family can come to every home game because it’s not far.”
“Their (Texas) facilities are much better than LSU’s,” said Sims. “I like their weight room, locker room, stadium and everything better because it’s nicer. I also think the campus is a lot nicer than the LSU campus. I like all those things about Texas.”
“Right now I’m going to take it slow,” Sims said. “Probably after my season is over, sometime in January or February, I’ll make my mind up and pick a school.”
Rumor out there that Alabama's starting RB, Eddie Lacy, is out for the season with a torn ACL. The school should confirm soon.
He also told one of the pay sites that he will be taking an official to OU although he was not sure which game.
DE Daeshon Hall has said he will return to Lancaster for his senior year. It'll be interesting to see if Texas tries to get back in on his recruitment.
That is interesting. He may be returning, but what does that mean about his future after that? Are his parents still getting back together in Washington (or wherever it was on the west coast)? He could be returning simply for football because compe ion is better.
I just saw a random tweet so I'm uncertain on that. Not sure if he'll only be in Lancaster for the fall semester. As far as I know, his folks plan to settle in Washington.
Both Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word have been invited to join the Southland Conference.

2014 WR KD Cannon tweeted this evening that he will be in Austin on September 1st for the Wyoming game.
Update on OL/DL Andrew Billings from 24/7...he did NOT make it to Austin this weekend with his parents and it seems UT is losing some momentum with Baylor rising fast. His parents loved everything about Texas when they visited in June, but it could come down to them wanting him at a smaller school that's closer to home. He remains in consistent contact with the staff and an unofficial to the UT campus before his commitment has not been ruled out, but this one could come down to the last school he visits. As of right now, that school is Baylor and they're supposedly recruiting him the hardest.
“I know he and his folks loved the place when they went down there,” the source said of Texas. “I think it might be too big. I can't say that for sure, but for whatever reason they've slipped back a little bit over the last couple of weeks.”
Quotes from 2014 CB Nick Watkins of Dallas Bishop Dunne (24/7):
“It was great to get the offer,” Watkins said. “I grew up following the Texas program, so to get that offer is a dream come true. I didn't think it would happen this early, but I'm glad it did.”
“I'm just trying to keep everyone even and really look at all of my options,” Watkins said. “I'm only a junior, and I've got plenty of time to decide. I want to make the best decision I can and make the right decision.”
“I want to go to some Texas games,” Watkins said. “I want to try and see them as much as I can.”
