I think George Hill would have been decent back in the day. Leonard is a perfect fit, imo.
McDyess, Splitter, and Neal would also have been good.
Blair, RJ, and Bonner probably wouldn't have lasted long here like they have now.
Of all the role players the Spurs have had, since the last le, which players could have actually played important roles, if they were inserted in the lineups of any of the previous le teams?..
Gary Neal, without a doubt IMO..
Splitter, no question..maybe McDyess?..
Anybody else?..

A 2007 version of RJ might have helped. Although he would have been an awkward fit because his 3point shot was terrible. But he fits the "Spurs need an athletic/young 3" mantra that was so popular 04-09.
As productive as the role players are this year, man I miss those other guys.
Bruce, Rob, and Brent mostly.
rob and brentg not so much bruce yes
Bruce, Neal and Splitter. That's it.
Maybe Antonio McDyess.
