Any true stories of ones who bought inexpensive tickets to get in the door, then sat in empty seats way close* to the court? $15 and dropping on Stub Hub at 2pm Texas Time.

*Or at least closer then balcony?

Or do the ATT ushers guard this like bulldogs? Rottweiler doberman bulldogs?

act casual, dont avoid eye contact with ushers, but dont seek it either, be friendly but no extroverted, dont be too introverted either, and just walk on by. flash em a smile as you do. they differ from usher to usher but few are bulldogs and most are well meaning enough. it would help to have nachos and a drink in your hands too..

In rows 20-34, I've never had an usher insist on seeing my ticket. BUT, when I sit in rows 20-34, it's because I have a ticket for rows 20-34. I don't try to cheat the system, but that's just me.

I've sat lower level a couple times this season and they were real stingy about you showing your tickets even if you just go take a quick leak.

All the time bro just be careful and keep your eye on the seats for a few quarters before you sit down. It's better to just to sit at your seat for lakers games and suh though tbh. I got lucky last game and met a usher though so I'm good.

I have season tickets and usually know other season ticket holders around me. So do the ushers. I am at games sometimes and watch ushers repeatedly ask individuals that try to sneak into lower level seats. Its funny the same responses these individuals usually do. Pretending to look for tickets, puppy dog getting scolded look, pretend you dont see usher coming look, etc.

Really only works in the 4th quarter. Also, dress nicely. More believable that you can afford those particular seats

Oh good memories, once I was on a school trip in high school ,and we went to a spurs game and the seats were way up there. So me and my buddy wanted to go down closer so we went down to the lower level like row 34 and we just walked past the usher she didn't say anything. Boy were we jumpy lol and what do you know right behind us I saw the usher escort a couple out I was so scared but it was worth the risk.

I sat courtside with upper deck tickets at Hemisfair before; dark days they were for the franchise.

Can be pretty easy after halftime. Walk in behind a group of people who are sitting there and make sure you have already scoped out the particular seats so you are not wandering around. If it empty, I do not think anyone really cares by then.

This is really the key. You have to spend some time checking out some seats that are empty from the beginning of the game. In the really lower levels, most of the ushers know the regulars by sight, but if you wait until the fourth quarter and go in with some other people and KNOW WHERE YOU ARE HEADING, they really don't much care.

I always thought (when I had season tickets) that people who couldn't be bothered to show up in the box seats OUGHT to give them away to anybody else. It looks terrible on tv to see empty boxes.

This, but if you go, make sure you scope out a few seats for the entire 1st half, then even wait a bit into the 3rd quarter because a lot of the rich monies aren't real spurs fans and are just going to go so they can brag about it & don't care if they are late. Also like that other guy said, couldn't hurt to have your hands full when your going to the seat.

Being an active fan, I used to get upset at the people in the super lower seats who would barely pay attention to the game and who looked askance at anyone who would actually cheer loudly or (maybe...occasionally) come out with an ad hominem attack against the refs. When I gave my tickets away I would purposely give them to people who would cheer loudly and yell and scream and make the tight-wads upset.

Back in the late 70's or early 80's my brother and I had cheap balcony tickets for a game at the old Hemisphere Arena. We spotted some great seats from above and came down in the second half of a game. After a minute or two some ushers tapped us on the shoulder and pointed to the back of the chairs, which read "Drossos", the owner of the Spurs at the time. We sheepishly got up and made our way back to the upper deck to a few smiles from the surrounding crowd. That was back in the day when the Spurs could never get past the Lakers with Kareem, Magic and company. There were some epic battles but times have changed and it's been a great run starting with Robinson and now with Duncan.
