Don't sleep on the Clippers. They've shown the versatility to be able to win grind it out and high-scoring games.
What's the longest winning streak in Spurs history? We could run this one to......26?
Don't sleep on the Clippers. They've shown the versatility to be able to win grind it out and high-scoring games.
17 games
26 would be the second best streak ever
On paper should be a sweep...but fact is that the clips could be a real danger.
Nobody was predicting the clips would have won this game 7 against the Grizzlies.
That scares me a lot...'cause on paper (also considering we're rested and some of them are injured) ther's no way they have an advantage in any part of the game against us...but quite the same could have been said of them against the Grizzlies, when (and that's for sure) some of their players have been injured.
Plus, if they're still hungry, as of now they have the momentum and they have Paul, that looks like is not injured anymore.
Always have to expect the unexpected...'cause when things looks too easy, is the moment where you have to be really ready to fight...
Their bench is deeper than San Antonio's? That's utterly laughable.
Spurs in 5 or 6. The Spurs simply cannot lose a playoff series to the LA Clippers. That would be shameful scoreboarding.
Just detailed this in another thread. Blair should've copied Evan's game and he'd be a fantastic bench big. They're both short on athleticism, they both have similar close to the basket games. They both can rebound well when they get good position. Evans is just more physical.
Bonner is NOT a good matchup for these guys and Pop needs to have the quick hook on him like he did vs Utah.
Magic Johnson feels the Clippers match up very well against the Spurs.
So I feel alot better about the series lol.
I hope we sweep them as the Clippers have been one of the most overrated team this year and it would be nice to send them packing after a very rude awakening.
But... I don't see it happening, especially after we struggled against them in the reg season. We won the series only because a very dumb, uncharacteristic play by Paul. They seem injured (but they always do).
First thing I don't like is that they are at the same time a big market team and some of the greatest floppers in NBA history, and I can see the refs biting time and again.
Second, the Spurs can be very iffy defending the PnR, often making the wrong choice (typically daring the guard to make his shot... and said guard then lights up the Spurs with a tow of easy, uncontested jumpers and no adjustments from Pop).
Third, they are a big team, even though they aren't as big as the Lakers or Grizz.
Fourth, their guards can get hot streak.
Fifth, the Spurs have been known to over rely on the 3 (not so much this year but still) and will try to abuse the Clippers bad 3pt defense. On a night when our 3pt shooters go cold, it could get ugly.
So between rust, refs and bad 3 pt shooting night, I'm going to say 6, with possibility of 5 if VDN is as stupid as he was in some games against the Grizz.
Damn LA Home Games.
Spurs in 5.
Could go to 6 at the most. *shrug*
So The Spurs lets see.. all hatred for them aside, The Spurs really suck. People are overrating the Spurs because they swept the Jazz when the Jazz did not even deserve to be in the playoffs, they were THAT horrible. Tim Duncan misses all you have to do is put up a hand, Boris Diaw sucks and is old, their SFs suck...and Ginobli and Tony Parker is probably all we will have to worry about. Alot of the Spurs bums only play well AT HOME. On the road they play like the bums they are. Guys like Matt Bonner, Gary Neal, Kawai Leonard, the Green guy...THEY ALL SUCK. The only play well at home. Thats it. But these bums are all the type of guys that miss when you challenge their shots. They tend to only makes wide open shots if that...so it is important for our guys to close out and make em drive or something. Ginobli is all over the place so we also have to make sure he does not outrebound our damn big or anything like that. In our frontcourt we have Advantage with size and probably the most talented player in Blake ... it is up to Del Negro to realize this and see if he uses this to our advantage. Deandre needs to become a presence either defensively or offensively... I have a feeling The Spurs might try to Zone up and make us shoot. This is when guys like Randy Foye, Caron Butler, Mo Williams Nick Young and even eric Bledsoe will have to knock down shots. We can do it and for the first time in a very long time, I ******* BELIEVE![]()
Spurs in 5 and would not be surprised by a dominating sweep:
Ha ha ha the poster who said the most talented player is Griffin - he is one shot pony on two knees![]()
Does anyone have a link to Cooper's insane prediction?
Spurs in 5....and I'm being generous.
Spurs in 6
Game 1 – Spurs
Game 2 – Spurs
Game 3 – Clips
Game 4 – Spurs
Game 5 – Clips (via Joey Crawford)
Game 6 - Spurs
Spurs in 5, I think they win at least one at home.
Spurs in 5. Perimeter game causing nightmares. The only position that Clippers have a starting advantage is Chris Paul, but it's not that far ahead. I don't see them really keeping up. Average range of victory 12 points.
clipps win game one but spurs win in 5!
but one of our main players will get hurt!
(and yes, thats a reverse jinx!)
I will take a slightly hurt Bonner or Blair and live with that!
