ty pizza TBH...
You do this small gesture and you will receive dinner this evening. One large free pizza. They say they are not political, racist or being controversy. They are promoting their company towards all people of the USA. They are promoting manners. I'm going to take their word for it even though they pulled this same sort of promotional thing when they had customers pay with pesos a few years back. Personally I will not be a part of the promo for a number of reasons. God bless

Does this work in San Antonio too? It isn't great Pizza, but if free.....
Also, as far as the peso thing, did anyone who has a problem with this also have a problem with the fact that you could pay in canadian dollars at Eddie Bauer? (Not sure if you still can)
It got you posting about a pizza place on a message board didn't it?
Looks like their promotion is working.
Of course it's working in regards that people are talking about it. Octomom stripping is working for her in regards we are talking about her. She is getting free pub for her future porns. But will it work out in the log run? Will it turn off anyone that is not Latino? Will existing black, white, yellow patrons stop getting their pizzas there? Is it racist? Are they playing to their latino customers and hoping to get more Latinos. Are they making a political statement? Some of me says yes to all these questions. Most of me says I will take their word for it since this is the 2nd Latino promotion in 5 years.
I'm curious if this type of promotional will work when it comes to dollars and cents, where they will go from here with it and of course other people's opinions. God bless
Also, it's funny the article says that employees received death threats about the peso promotion, but that their sales jumped 35%! It sucks that those people who were angry hate capitalism.
Sales jumped 35 percent and they did not do that type of promo again? That doesn't sound right. Im not saying its not true, just saying money is money and at the end of the day I would think they would throw that promo at us again. God bless
It could be a political statement, or it could be a way to endear itself to the fastest growing demographic in the country (yes maybe to the detriment of other demographics).
from their wiki:
In January 2007, Pizza Patrón announced its new "Pizza por Pesos" policy which enabled the chain's customers to pay for pizzas with Mexican pesos for a limited time. Though the company was not the first to implement such a policy in the United States, the move came at a time of increasingly heated debate over illegal immigration in the United States and caused the chain's Dallas headquarters to receive complaints and death threats.[4] It also created publicity for the chain, garnering media attention from several outlets (including Fox News and The Colbert Report). After the first week of the promotion, one owner reported that he took in about 15,000 pesos (close to $1,400) at his two southern California branches, accounting for roughly 20% of his profits.[5]
On May 3, 2007, the company reported that sales in the first three months of 2007 were up 35% compared to sales during the first three months of 2006. The company attributed the strong growth in sales to publicity generated by news reports about the "Pizza for Pesos" campaign and said that its policy of accepting pesos, originally scheduled to last only until the end of April, was being made permanent.[6] They caused controversy again in May 2012 by offering free pizza's for customers that would say a sentence in spanish. Critics said this was racist and insensitive to people who did not speak spanish and would have to pay full price because so.
If sales stayed up, they wouldn't have to.
Ron Bless?
White people be crazy. ing about free pizza when all you gotta say is a couple of words in Spanish.
Like being mad about getting a day off for MLK Jr.
You can still pay with pesos? Also I found it interesting the owner is of italian and Lebanese decent. Perhaps sales are way up and they are just thanking their customers. My brother chump added to the conversation without insults. My prayers are being rewarded. God bless
Your existence is an insult to God.
Hispanics aren't the only people capable of speaking Spanish or having Pesos.
I am not sure why this is interesting.
Also, perhaps sales are down, so they are doing a promotion to get their name out.
If it is racist marketing It would appear "nothing personal" approach cuz the owner is not Hispanic. All about the money, who you are marketing with a touch of a political message attached might be the answer to this type of promo. Plus desperate times calls for desperate measures and sales down would make sense with this type of promo considering the racial element, pesos and Spanish speaking. That's part of my interest to the story.
Like I said, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. 5 dollar pizza doesn't sound good to me, you get what you pay for and in this case it's free. No thanks. God bless
Oh for sure, I have tried their pizza once and will only eat it again for free. Its little ceasars level bad. I for one applaud the company's effort. They saw a market with a future and have gone after it... HARD.
I have no problem with them marketing to a specific demographic group. That concept is as old as advertising.
Their pizza may suck, but their logo is awesome
What is your evidence sales are down?
And there's nothing racial about money and language. Anyone can say the words and pay with pesos.
My angry and confrontational brother. I truly understand you but I can't have discussion with you when you make up things I say or interpret what I say as a matter of fact. It's unproductive. God bless
I quoted you.
If you have no evidence sales are down and you just made that up, say so.
I'm praying for you. God bless
You're a terrible liar
Ron bless.
