    Luguentz Dort

    School: Arizona State
    Position: SG/SF
    Age: 20
    Height: 6-foot-4.25
    Weight: 222.2
    Wingspan: 6-foot-8.5
    Draft Range: 22 to 42
    Combine Results? Yes

Why: Imposing physical specimen. Muscular, fast, jumps well, quick feet and explosive. Drives hard to the rim and powers through opponents, which led to a very high rate of free throw attempts. Ferocious dunker when given daylight. Good enough ball-handler with good enough court vision. Was a stout defender as a freshman. Strength, quickness and anticipation on the perimeter gives him a high ceiling as a defender.

Why Not: His skillset would work better in the NBA as a power wing but he's only 6-foot-2.75 without shoes. Montreal native still very raw: fouls too much, turns it over too much, not always a willing passer and a poor playmaker for a guard. Advanced stats were ugly as a freshman and had more turnovers than assists. Shooting a question mark -- shot only 30.7% on threes, 47.2% on twos and 70% at the line.

Spurs Fit: A year in Austin would likely be in his future. With White, Murray and Walker around, he would be playing a lot of small forward.

Spurs Comparison - Ceiling: Devin Brown

Spurs Comparison - Floor: Melvin Sanders

That's basically a pre-requisite to be drafted by the Spurs.

he’s been playing fantastic defense on harden. especially for being a rookie and is a big reason why okc tied the series up. the game comes to him naturally.

He has been solid in the bubble, but the entire forum would have their pants if the Spurs drafted a 6'3 SF with no shot. we already have solid perimeter defenders in White/Murray, and this guy, while doing an ok job on Harden, is never going to be able to guard the top tier SFs like Kawhi/Durant.

I haven't seen a single minute of this series, but he must really be playing great defense on Harden to warrant 30 mpg, because his offensive numbers suck herpes infested ass, tbh.

    Thas the damn truth.

He's made Harden work in the bubble, for sure. I think it's bigger that he was good enough to get 23 minutes per game as a rookie, and while he's not a game-changer, he doesn't hurt the team like a couple of players on the Spurs' roster.

Analysts everywhere are analyzing how Dort has defended Harden. But if you've watched the games you have to have noticed that the zebras haven't blown as many whistles in Harden's favor. I just did a quick check - Harden is drawing about 1/3 fewer whistles per FGA, compared to what he normally gets. Not taking anything away from Dort, but good defense isn't always enough to keep the refs from blowing whistles for Harden. Bas lives at the line.
