I feel like Brand would have been a better fit for NOH.
Yeah, I can understand the interest in Scola at 3M+ for 3 years, but I can't understand the lack of interest in Brand for 1 year at the same price.

Interesting that so many lotto teams have Scola interest, per @ESPNSteinLine . Remember, can't trade him all year.
Scola camp needs to start claiming he has a bad injury (6 month recovery time). Any injury update? Not that it matters.
I agree that Brand seems to be a better fit with NOH.
If the Spurs add Scola (and Darko), it will be a good off season.
All we can hope for is that his contract length & no real details on his current injury are enough to scare off these lottery teams.
i'm not surprised he's getting that much interest. it'd be cool if he managed to clear waivers and come here.
Well since both Haywood and Milicic were amnestied on Thursday, we should find out today what teams (if any) won the bid for them. Not that it eliminates those teams from the Scola race.
Why the are the Kings interested in Scola? They just resigned Jason Thompson and drafted Robinson.
I don't buy that all these rebuilding teams are interested in Scola for at least $10M/3 years. And if Spurs don't get Scola, it won't be the end of the world. It's not like he is a great or even very good player.
Of course they could, by the numbers. It's not about THIS year, it's about NEXT. Dallas struck out already, but they are going to cap reload and go after CP3 next summer. They don't want that 3 year/$10M deal hanging around their necks.
They could trade him next summer.

NBA's 30 teams just notified that Brendan Haywood has been claimed on waivers by Bobcats

NBA's 30 teams also notified that Darko Milcic has cleared waivers and is now an unrestricted free agent
Maybe Charlotte will not bid on Scola.
What were the minimum amounts needed to bid on Haywood and Milicic?
Milicic had two years and $10 million remaining on his contract, but only $7 million is guaranteed.
Haywood had I think 3 years and $27 million.
http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/maver...rendan-haywoodHaywood's $8.3 million salary this season and $27.2 million overall
Not sure what his lowest salary over the length of the contract is though
Milicic: $3.9M over 2 years
Haywood: $4.2M over 3 years
Milicic cleared waivers.
David Aldridge @daldridgetnt
Charlotte's winning bid for Haywood, per league source, was $2.05M.
Must be quoted in per year for 3 years.
Plan A- Sign Scola
Plan B- Trade Tiago+ for a pf and sign Darko to be the backup C.
So are we making a bid on Scola or do we only have a chance if he clears waivers?
Unless the Spurs magically restructured their salaries to get under the cap, they have to wait till if and when he clears waivers.
