That'll be pretty remarkable if Romney somehow s this up and makes it a bad thing for him.

I'm by no stretch of the imagination a Quaddafi sympathizer like certain posters in this thread, but Obama was wrong for taking him out the same way Bush was wrong for taking Hussein out.

Both guys might have murdered innocent people in their country but that's hardly something exclusive to just Libya and Iraq. They were both secular leaders who kept Islamic extremism to a minimum. They might have been bad for the people in their country, but they were both good for America.

didn't see any role america played in taking him out tbh, the whole was plotted by europeans and executed by libyan insurgents, and throughout the process america hadn't done a single damn thing beyond diplomatic condemnation imho.

ghaddafi had been behaving good since hussein's regime fell and i never expected he would be right the next sent to the guillotine before the likes of the north korea's picklebreath leader and iran's president tbh

Ghadaffi had been behaving since Reagan came within a pubic hair of blowing his ass up with that flight of F111F's in 1986.

    Wow....

Romney was under pressure to hit Obama harder, but took a running leap at the pooch for this one.

It will play well with his party's cool-aid drinkers, but no few out of his own party are edging away from this one.

Ron Paul Correctly Predicts Al Qaeda Will Move Into Libya After Gaddafi
    Al qaeda was already there.

One of the towns in libya is where they recruited a lot of suicide bombers, and this town was less than 100 miles from Benghazi.

From what I have seen so far, what we know seems to suggest the attack on the consulate there was planned to be executed on 9-11, and the fact that the embassador was there, and the cover from the protests about the video were fortuitous for the attackers.

Brother, why do you lie to yourself? Anyone who does not bleed blue upsets you. You attack them and call them ignorant over and over. It's just not me, brother. Your friend tb called you out on your hypocrisy. Thats pain coming out, your hypocrisy. You must look below your surface, brother. There you will find the real pain, the pain that drives you on this message board. Start over today, there is a lot of the day left. If you disagree with a poster, let them know you disagree with them without name calling. Give your opinion, brother. Name calling is silly and ignorant. God bless

I didn't know about the FP one..... Thanks fuzzy.
FP is good, but the best periodical, bar none, about the US and its relations with the rest of the world:

    http://www.foreignaffairs.com/

Even-handed, objective, well researched. It is one of the two periodicals that I make room in the family budget for.

To be fair, the picture was probably snapped as he was nodding to one of his aides off camera, and being polite.

As stupid as I found his remarks, the picture probably doesn't mean what one might think at first glance, out of context.

Romney does and says plenty of stupid when it comes to foreign policy without making stuff up.

This guy would be worse than Bush for our relations with the rest of the world, if this is his idea of being "bold".

(Romney's foreign policy stupidity probably deserves its own thread, I'll stop there)

I don't know RG. You can see Romney smirking/smiling during the press conference as well when he's trying to score points. Even if it's innocent, it still looks bad.

Yeah. The dude is as smarmy as they come.

I thought Obama was bad when it came to saying anything and everything to get elected, but this guy takes that to a whole new level.

Mitt Romney will say ANYTHING to get elected. Any trace of genuine sentiment or thoughts has long been buried in bull . No one knows what he really thinks, or at least no one with any sense, because he has about zero credibility when telling you what his policy positions are.

That's one thing that struck me about the press conference is that idiotic "are you buying my bull ?" smile he kept throwing at reporters when taking questions. Did anyone bother to tell him that people died in that Embassy? If you're going to try to use this for political gain at least try to look serious and presidential while taking questions.

Darrin posting a youtube based on the le.

The reporter didn't really "slam" the president, dip .

That bit of subtlety is obviously over your head, but hey, you keep using that ed confirmation bias to view reality, by all means. It makes my job of depicting people who think like you do as idiots easy.

I can only be grateful that nuance and context are not your forte'.

Reagan, Bush Refused To Politicize Iran Crisis During 1980 Presidential Election

Republicans love Ronald Reagan. Despite the fact that today’s GOP is so far to the right that it probably would consider Reagan a radical leftist, whatever policy Republicans want to prescribe to a any particular issue, they just stamp a “Ronald Reagan” seal of approval to it and the crowd goes wild.

Mitt Romney is too, no stranger to idealizing Reagan. So one might expect that his widely ridiculed outburst that President Obama sympathized with the attackers who killed four American foreign service officers this week was something Ronald Reagan would have done. Not exactly. Some reporters have wondered whether Reagan attacked President Carter after his failed attempt at rescuing American hostages in Iran during the 1980 campaign. So what did Reagan say as news broke? He called for national unity:

“This is a difficult day for all of us Americans. … It is time for us…to stand united. It is a day for quiet reflection…when words should be few and confined essentially to our prayers.”

George H.W. Bush, also campaigning for the GOP nomination at that time was more direct: “I unequivocally support the president of the United States — no ifs, ands or buts — and it certainly is not a time to try to go one-up politically. He made a difficult, courageous decision.”

Romney Campaign Pushing False Line That ‘Apologies’ Caused Attacks In Libya

    – LIZ CHENEY: “Apologizing for America, appeasing our enemies, abandoning our allies and slashing our military are the hallmarks of Mr. Obama’s foreign policy.” [Romney Press Release, 9/12/2012]

    – SEN. JOHN MCCAIN (R-AZ): “The United States is weak and withdrawing and that’s why you’re seeing a lot of leaders reacting.” [Today Show, 9/13/2012]

    — SEN. JIM INHOFE (R-OK): “What foreign policy? The policy of appeasement. Yes, it’s happening as a result of that.” [The Hill, 9/13/2012]
