    Why is he a ? I've actually gotten back into the shoe game myself recently. I used to love the tech that went into Basketball shoes when I was younger. I mostly buy them for performance and functionality these days (not solely on looks), but I also buy some retros that I couldn't afford when I was a kid. It's true that some of today's models do look horrible, but I do think that if you're somewhat even remotely athletic, whether that is playing Basketball/Running/Training, then having good shoes can help.
