When I first saw this story on the espn.com sidebar I thought it said "Schilling might have to sell rock."
He's not really a smart business guy that's for sure.
He invested all his eggs on a gaming company and the money dried up and now he's bankrupt on that end.
I don't know, I kinda feel bad for the guy. He took a shot at doing something cool, hired some really big names, and flailed out spectacularly. I would probably try to start a bit smaller, but I don't know if I can fault him for thinking big.
Schilling = Iverson = Eddy Curry = Pippen = Antoine Walker
He earned $119 million in his career and is broke?
Of course he should be faulted. What kind of jackass has that kind of money and thinks he needs to risk it all on stupid business ventures when he has no kind of business experience nor knowledge? I can't understand not just sitting on your big pile of money in that situation. It's one thing if you're Steve Jobs and have a proven track record of building successful businesses from the ground up and you take a big risk, but lol these dumb athletes and their get rich schemes when they're already rich.
I would feel bad for the guy except he's a neo-conservative world class asshole. When he was on the Diamondbacks, everyone on the team gave him the nickname "Dinner for 1" because he's that much of an introverted jackass.
The dude was yelling at Cowherd (granted, Cowherd can be an intolerable jackass at times...) the other day on the radio and it was hilarious to be reminded how much of an asshole this guy can be. There will be some nutjob Red Sox fan paying top dollar for this lame keepsake.
most pros are broke 5 years after they retire
