What Mack does (or in this case, doesn't do) with the recruits has nothing to do with the fact that UT consistently dominates the recruiting of athletes in the state of Texas. The majority of athletes in this state want to go to UT first, that's simply a fact. It's not bragging.
I'm just saying that A&M is severely misguided if they think that the move to the SEC is going to be some major upgrade in their recruiting of players. Occasionally, yes it may win a guy over here and there, but it's not going to change the fact that UT still dominates that market, and that they stupidly just opened the doors for Alabama, LSU, and Florida to have an extra means of communication with those same recruits A&M are trying to get. Say 100 different players who would like to play for UT, realize that UT isn't the place for them for various reasons (whether its PT, not being offered, etc...), and has to decide on a second option of university, and has the choice between A&M and Alabama, who are they going to mostly choose?
