I was wondering if anyone can post that ESPN article of the postseason MVPs. I believe Duncan reached #1. Thanks in advance.
It's a really awful list, I don't think you even wanna look at it, my ..
Thanks for the post, sandiegospursfan.
I agree with Duncan at #1... the rest of the list should be:
1. Duncan
2. Lebron
3. Parker/Ginobili
5. Westbrook (over Durant)
6. Leonard/Diaw
lebron should be #1.. silly list tbh
Why, he had an extremely easy road to the Finals...
true.. the leastern conference sucks, but he did carry his team to the finals. it's just unfortunate for him that he ran into the greatest team of all time.
also, i feel like kawhi was more important in these playoffs than duncan and parker. just because of what kawhi did in the finals, and because of his defense throughout the playoffs. i'll always remember that awesome block on westbrook.
When I saw Tony at #2, I stopped reading
Tony was not better than Kawhi. I agree with Duncan over Kawhi though.
Should be:
1. Duncan
2. Lebron (I wouldn't have a problem with him at #1)
3. Kawhi
4. Westbrook
5. Manu/Diaw
It's for the whole postseason, not just the Finals.
meh for a so so PO run by his standard Tony at 2 I'll take it
top 5 should be heat or Spurs players, makes no sense to me to give a top 5 to a player on a "tournament" that did not play 1/4 of it. If you elect the three first rounds of the POs yes I agree Westbrook is right there between Lebron and Timmy.
Giving the MVP to a Spurs player seem also fair so I'm good with Tim then Lebron is obvious imo. Parker has a case between 3-5 with Manu and Leonard. He led a championship team in assists and ppg and he had actually a pretty solid PO on the defensive end.
Parker was not the 2nd best Spur during this playoff run. I'm not even sure he should be in the top 5.
I'd rank the Spurs:
1. Duncan
2. Kawhi
3. Manu
4. Diaw
5. Splitter
Then maybe Parker but there's an argument to be made for Danny at #6. Nothing against Parker he was injured during a lot of the playoffs.
That's the point. I would say that if it was for the finals Tony would have a better case for being 2nd than for the entirety of the playoffs.
You laugh but look at the stats and watch the games. Parker was not in the top 5, the only reason he gets the credit he does is because he's Tony Parker, it definitely isn't based on his play. Curious what your top 5 looks like.
For the Spurs :
Manu
Duncan/Diaw/Kawhi/Parker tied
Green
Mills
Splitter
Beli
Splitter didn't have a big role the last 2 rounds but he was huge early on, especially against the Mavs.
1. Duncan
2. Kawhi
3. Diaw
4/5 Gino/TP or TP/Gino
Lead the Spurs in scoring and assists over the playoffs.
Missed most of one game against Portland and half of a game against OKC ("often injured").
32 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds on 58% shooting in key Game 7 against Dallas.
Completely annihilated Portland on the PnR, made Lillard his .
Set the tone against OKC at home (14 & 12 + 22 & 5).
Lead the Spurs in scoring in the Finals.
Go yourself and your stupid hate.
Is there a stat on lebron's shooting % when kawhi is on him, and his shooting % when boris or other players on him?
"Kawhi's did not do much on defense"? what a ton of bull
Lol @ Parker over Lebron. C'mon please gmafb
This is the only thing I've seen:
There is probably no such thing as a James lock down defender with all the new rules changes in the last few years.
